tfw you're reading an old Russian book and somebody sets up the samovar and you think wow my culture sucks and will suck forever until we learn to get down with that samovar life

Tripped up because I guess Tommy Helms never got in at first base? But the number of Reds catchers with 100 rbi is probably pretty small, so I wouldn't have stayed under 10 anyway.

LFG! Win this one for Granville

That's really interesting. I can't argue with it. I think though that the source for some generally-accepted thoughts that are not true might be difficult to identify. And the one who once told me this might just be repeating it with an entirely different set of motivations and assumptions.

“Department of Government Efficiency.”

This is gold. Thank you, Brian Eno. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hh7C...

I'm laser-focused on the most important issues of the day. Got a 13 in Immaculate Grid with 7 Reds outfielders that I saw play.

Damar Hamlin!

Everyone doubted Player A Team, but he showed them in the end.

Man knows his football.

Hey @ramzy.bsky.social do you know if Jeremiah Smith is allowed to be thrown to against Michigan? It seems like that could be, possibly, a good idea next year.

Don't know the name of that wrestling move by #77 for ASU, but I loved it.

When Jim Banner recruited me for the updated Presidential Misconduct collection, I was busy finishing Fault Lines and joked that I could only handle a light load, so I’d do Carter. But I found he was, if anything, *too* ethical, bending over backward to be transparent. Seems a world away from us.

RIP to the only decent country ass president of my lifetime

Rest in peace.

@ramzy.bsky.social Where was THAT against TTUN?

Congrats to the Cobra.

Liked everything about this but loved the horns. Brilliant. youtu.be/-91vymvIH0c

I think Ted Gioia frequently has great insights about culture. Here's the latest example I've seen. substack.com/home/post/p-...
