Just caught this! :( I'm not sure which epilogue you're referring to but each level / screen gets its own unique music :)

I really hope Nintendo stands their ground and sets a responsible price in reflection to the tariffs. I'd be willing to pay more just so Nintendo doesn't have to absorb the costs because our president is a moron. If they cave in, it just sets a bad precedent and is dangerous for businesses.

As someone who writes more engines than games... I agree 100% 😅

It just appeared when I opened the app one day! I don't know if it's possible to get it back up somehow

Ah the ol' OS debate. A tale as old as new Time(0)

I would love to see the camera button become a "magic" button. Need to turn on the (smart) light switch from across the room? Look at it and press the magic button. See a QR code? Press the button, look at your phone. Want to connect with someone? You both look at each other and press the button

I hope that the display is more of a few predefined visuals (e.g. an outline to show the framing of the shot) that can be turned on/off than a full-on display. Otherwise, the tech isn't quite there yet, and it'll probably just drain the battery before it becomes useful.

What game is this? Looks fun!

That was Microsoft's founding date, so I'm assuming it's an Easter egg/reference

(sorry about the double-post lol. Typo.)

I've been developing HTML games since around 2010 (see brianpoole.dev) and couldn't agree more. Really the biggest downfall is finding a way to monetize. There are games, like Crosscode, which just use a wrapper for each platform and get the best of both worlds.

ALTTP is the game I think of when I think of video games. It's a masterpiece.

They always find a way to blame anyone but themselves. Trump is king of that.

I hired a bloodhound to find my cat when he went missing for 3 weeks. It was a success! Your situation seems to be slightly different but still, I wonder if it could provide some clues?

Aw so cool that you played it!! That's such a great idea! I love it!

I have a few free games that you can play on my portfolio site. Not trying to plug, but knowing someone out there is having fun with them is wholesome 😊 I'm thinking the Cartoon Network section. Particularly Scooby Doo or Looney Tunes brianpoole.dev/games.html

I would hope that in the scenario where the AI bubble pops, the nuclear power plants keep going and the less green methods (e.g. coal) become empty shells.

It's such a breath of fresh air on bsky, honestly. If you're curious, there is a Game Dev feed: bsky.app/profile/did:...

Rad!! Reminds me a little bit of Soldat-- which I LOVED-- but way cooler

And when you clear your save file, you release the characters to their own free will, in that build of the game. This is why it's important to not leave them in a bugged state. You wouldn't want to leave them stuck in a wall for all of eternity!

I look up to board games. I find that the most elegant systems for video games are ones that could easily be processed in your head, like a board game. I've been developing an RPG. At first, the system was intricate, which was fun, but after simplifying to head-math, it became almost addictive.

PWAs solve the problems you're describing. See Wordle. It's not that the web isn't tech capable of running these games -- I make them all the time for clients like Cartoon Network -- it's that the industry isn't designed for it. No major publishers want to market a web app, and users don't know PWAs

Are they making a new Theme Park? Looks like a crossover with Red Alert

It's still a terrible thing as a whole, but don't look at it as a skill loss. A lot of the skills and concepts translate between engines. As a web dev, I've lived through this sort of thing countless times and it was tough but I feel stronger for it. (Hope this helps!)

Theme Park had the simplicity though. I was obsessed with it, even the demo. "Daaaaaad I'm really bored." "BOOORED‽‽"

I prefer the black background. Rad concept!

That DK2 is a trip. I had so much fun in the wild west of VR while everyone was still trying to figure it out
