No surprise. Part of the plan. Do I sound like a conspiracy theorist? ๐

โDuring that sit-down, the Trump administration opted to bar all US reporters from photographing the meeting, allowing access only to White House photographers and Scherbak.โ (3/3)

โIn 2017, the first Trump administration came under fire when Alexandr Scherbak, a TASS photographer, was invited to cover a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. (2/3)

My best friend and her husband, also a best friend, are contemplating leaving the US. They have the means to do so. I probably could do a "cut and run", but I just don't want to give up on the notion that our democratic republic will survive. Idealism can be a burden.

I think $$$ makes a greater impact, but marching can't hurt. We've proven the power of small donations. Both together.

I commented earlier that Nikita Khruschev wasn't lying in 1956. I was 8 years old and remember it.I had hoped, as I got older and able to better to comprehend his message, that it would not happen. And, now here we are. I do, and will not, abandon hope, but the days are dark, the nights darker.

And the gaslighting of the American people continues. Just heard a retired General of the Army say that he never thought he'd see the day when the US would hesitate to assist and defend an ally being overrun by a super-power. The greed is going to do us in. And, Kruschev wasn't kidding in 1956.

HCR keeps me from despair. As do Ms. Vance, Ms. Craven and Ms. Piper. Love a little Dr. Robert Reich for spice! ๐

All citizens should care about NOAA. Weather touches every aspect of life, particularly in states still heavily engaged in significant agri-business. Heather Cox Richardson suggests we identify the issues important to us as individuals & focus our advocacy efforts there. NOAA is one of mine.

It is heartbreaking. But I understand that the child who has died was a member of an isolated and dispersed Mennonite community. Mennonites' faith apparently doesn't formally oppose immunization as a tenet of their beliefs, yet they are under-vaccinated. How can they be reached?
