I was aiming for whimsy and simplicity but also make a political statement — those wedding bands wrapped around the world were a protest. At the time, the US didn’t recognize same sex marriage and states were going out of their way to ban it, including California.

Yes, it’a sequel to the seminal doc “The Celluloid Closet,” which Jeffrey also worked on. It picks up where the previous film leaves off and explores the last 30 years of LGBTQ+ cinema and where we are today, with our work being banned and our community under attack.
