Us olds likely have multiple fond memories of doing things the old ways, and none of what I'm saying means to diminish that fact. Figuring those things out with loved ones, the joy of exploring - those are all valid and wonderful. But it's better now, and we can still make memories.

Full stop. Reliability leads to better safety. The ability to avoid traffic is wonderful. Plus being able to pinpoint your location exactly when something goes wrong is so valuable.
