Thank you! His name is Garak and according to the breeder I got him from, he’s a cinder motley tessera cornsnake.

…felt a little guilty that I was relieved it wasn’t *my* trans kid and then felt sad and angry about any kids being forced to go through the hell that I did.
And then I did emails and spreadsheets and other stuff that doesn’t matter.

I rode my bike to work this morning. Biking makes me feel happier. I saw a bunny and a cute lady on a Honda Ruckus. I sang New Pornographers songs and didn’t think about the horrors. Then I got to work and checked Bluesky and had to figure out which trans kids just lost their healthcare and then…

Based on a sampling of the density of my record collection and a guesstimate of the linear inches of records in this pic, I'm gonna say 522 individual discs in 452 distinct album packages.

Maybe it’s the autism speaking, but most people don’t make much sense.
Like, I don’t people’s behavior as random, but when somebody does something unexpected, it’s not usually shocking to me like it apparently is for some folks.
Sometimes people just do stuff. I dunno. 🤷♀️

I pulled up next to a woman on a Honda Ruckus at a stoplight on my commute this morning, and it really got me thinking about how much friendlier and safer roads would feel if more people using them weren't in cars.

Not sure that winter riding is going to be much of a thing for me, because my lungs don't care for cold air much, but electric assist and not having to huff and puff my way up to the hill to home should at least extend my riding season, so I'm exploring my options.

Good to know the tires last! I had a flat from a tiny piece of metal recently, which was when I learned there was Slime in the tubes, so it wasn't a huge deal, but I went ahead and got some spare tubes just in case. I like the slicks, but it seems like they'd be more prone to flats than knobblies.

Do you ride it in snow, and if so, what's your tire situation?

As someone who can type faster than I can do quality thinking, 100%.

I highly recommend the 6-gallon milk crate if you can fit it on your bike. It holds One Large Thing plus my daily backpack and lunch bag load-out.

Dang.
If I hadn’t gotten a similar but less fancy one (Lectric Xpedition 1.0) a month ago, I’d be all over that.
I gotta say, this style of longtail that’s not actually longer than a regular bike has a lot going for it.

Like, there *are* Democrats who are on our side. Unfortunately, they’re not the ones calling the shots at the national party level.

I have a friend who lives there and I’ve happily drunk out of her kitchen faucet. Although I’m not very picky and like a little mineral content in my water. I’ll ask her for more detail.

I mean, obviously fuck the Supreme Court, but when the leadership of the party that’s at least maybe kinda theoretically nominally on our side is like, “Ope, kids like yours being put through the hell that you experienced are just a distraction,” then yeah, fuck them too.

I mean, I was intending to live in my house for the foreseeable future, but if it’s a CASH offer…nah, I’m still planning on living in my house.

Since exertion in cold dry air is my #1 asthma trigger, winter riding is a bit of a dicey proposition for me, but now that I have an ebike and can choose my level of effort, I’ll see how far I can push it this year.

Around here, we always purify ourselves in the waters of Lake Minnetonka after a ride.

If I were a bun at the bank drive thru, I would be stuffing myself in one of the pneumatic tubes so fast.

We had a similar TV that, as far as my brother and I knew, only showed Ronald Reagan (booo) and the space shuttle (including the Challenger 😬). Until I saw Star Wars on it for the first time.
We got our first color TV when we cleaned out my great grandpa’s house after he died when I was maybe 8.

Nah. Maybe some light nibbling, but mostly I'd just like, wrap it around my other limbs and nearby objects (in this scenario, I am assuming a possum tail because of Reasons).
