This is just heartbreaking. There is nothing these people won't destroy.

the NY editorial board moves in circles in which 'known harasser of women' is socially acceptable but 'younger left-winger' is somebody who might embarrass you.

call for a vote to censure or call for a vote to expel. protract the story and explain why it matters.

🚨 There’s a lot of horrific news out of Washington right now—but you might have missed this: Senate Republicans just introduced a plan to sell off 120 million acres of our public lands. Let me break down what’s in the bill and why it’s a full-scale land grab. 🧵

Oh

I wrote about how the 2020 protests hurt Trump politically. I also wrote about how counternarratives about left-wing violence are just spin — and wildly at odds with the reality of extremist violence. Gift link: wapo.st/3SOEv6e

This wouldn't be happening if Trump were president.

A top staffer to Sen. Tina Smith emailed Sen. Mike Lee’s top staffers on Monday about “how much additional pain you’ve caused on an unspeakably horrific weekend” Via Sam Stein on twitter

Saudi Arabia has executed another journalist, Turki Al-Jasser, after 7 years of detention for reporting on corruption. The failure to hold Saudi Arabia accountable for the murder of Jamal Khashoggi only encourages further acts of deadly violence against journalists in the Persian Gulf & elsewhere.

Gov. Cuomo should stop parking illegally ... because it encourages people to run his plate and see what a reckless driver he is. buff.ly/73CiWsf

We should all understand by now that this kind of violence is what Trump and the GOP *want*. They’re never going to stop inciting it because it serves their purposes.

BREAKING: A federal judge in Massachusetts (the Reagan-appointed William Young) has declared the Trump administration's cuts to NIH grants — ostensibly over Trump's EOs on gender ideology and DEI — are "illegal" and "void." He's ordering many grants restored.

Political violence must always be condemned.

"In its annihilative force and ambition, the Israeli campaign is unique among modern conflicts. In fact, the term 'war crime' is not even adequate for what's happening in Gaza." A searing, essential piece by Suzy Hansen:

"deemphasized high-minded ideals like democracy..." Definition added: does not give a crap about ethics or any other person.

Donald Trump doesn't care about anyone but himself—his lightly attended $45 million military parade could've housed 6,000 homeless veterans.

Was waiting for this: Heart's Nancy Wilson calls out Trump for blasting "Barracuda" during his military parade. A “powerful piece of music that was never intended for political use" and used "without permission or authorization from us." www.huffpost.com/entry/nancy-...

every day i think they can’t get any worse. every day i’m wrong.

"Stephen Miller and Donald Trump have made a choice: To hunt law-abiding migrants rather than the Trump supporters gunning down Democrats in their homes." Boom.

behold the fruits of good-faith bipartisanship: your conservative colleagues will eat your face, and then everyone blames *you*

The Times can't help itself. Blatantly corrupt dealings in Trump world merely "raise ethical concerns" -- because the Times (like essentially all of Big Journalism) has normalized activity that would have had news barons demanding impeachment of any previous president.

I count 49 news headlines on the NYT mobile app home page right now, not including opinion, sports or cooking. None of them are about the massive protests yesterday.

I absolutely think we need to keep in mind how we might obtain accountability. But raising the import of doing so--with no consideration of the massive undertaking or strategy it would require--is naive.

LET’S MAKE SURE THIS PATRIOT IS PROTECTED!!! 🚨DISTURBING: Airman Christian Stephens posted a video saying he’s not proud to serve under Trump and disapproves of ICE. Now it’s gone—replaced with a chilling message that he was forced into a psych hold, despite not being a threat. Please share.

This time-lapse video of protesters marching down Broadway in Oakland for No Kings Day gives an idea of how many people turned out today @sfchronicle.com

It has always been the ES&S system showed the theft: Kentucky 2016.

We’ve truly lost our way in this country. An 80-year-old vet who fought for this country just got arrested protesting Trump‘s parade. He deserves respect, not handcuffs.

Four Trump NatSec officials. None mention that the victims are Democrats.

“Iran would not be this close to possessing a #nuclear weapon if Trump and Netanyahu had not forced US out of nuclear agreement with Iran that had brought US, Europe, Russia and China together to successfully contain Iran’s nuclear ambitions.” www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...

This is what gerrymandering looks like in Texas. This is TX HD15 - the white part in the middle of this map. It runs from Austin south to the border with Mexico. It’s surgical - designed to dilute Democratic precincts.

Undocumented immigrants paid an effective federal income tax rate of 5.27% in 2022. That means they paid a higher effective tax rate than 5 of the richest Americans…and a higher effective tax rate than 55 mega corporations. So let me ask you: who are the real freeloaders?

Posted near the White House today

Where the fuck are all the Republican Senators coming out to support the right of a fellow Senator NOT to be body-slammed and cuffed for asking a question in his OWN building in the state HE represents? You KNOW what happened. You SAW the video. WHERE ARE YOU FUCKING COWARDS???

NYT leads with nitpickery rather than the story of the day. Why?

Some will try to blame Trump for slowing the progress of so-called "carbon capture" projects. But that's not true. This sector would have collapsed anyway -- since the projects were wildly overhyped and have massively underdelivered. They were always a bad idea. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/10/c...

LIVE: Right now, I led a march to Leader John Thune’s office — he’s refusing to meet with the House Democrats, who are demanding answers on what he’s doing to protect @padilla.senate.gov.

This is absolutely insane, and criminal. Everyone, especially a Senator representing the state, has a right to speak out. The fact that the agents felt protected in acting this way says everything. We’re quickly traversing a dangerous path

Don't let them lie to you about Senator Padilla. DHS is claiming the agents DID NOT KNOW he was a senator. He CLEARLY says (BEFORE he is tackled and cuffed) "I am Senator Alex Padilla and I have a question for the secretary."

Very importantly, it is not a "sign of the rising political tensions," it is "sign of the increasingly authoritarian approach of the Trump administration." Fucking say so, cowards.

Padilla: If this is how DHS responds to a senator with a question you can only imagine what they're doing to farm workers, to cooks, to day laborers out in the Los Angeles community and throughout California.

In the past week, a union leader has been arrested, a U.S. Rep charged with a crime, a U.S. Senator violently handcuffed, and reporters shot with rubber bullets and detained. There is no ambiguity. This is a regime operating as an authoritarian. Americans who believe in liberty must oppose it.
