#BedstrawHawkmoth a nice find whilst walking through the Sand Dunes at Brancaster today.

It's that Poppy time of year again in north Norfolk.

Same bird, same photo, 3 slightly different images after processing on the computer. Started wondering which I preferred. Now the question is, do they work better together as a threesome? @rspbengland.bsky.social #RSPBStrumpshawFen #Lapwing #Photography

Just got this back on this Marsh Harrier that I saw at Holme on Friday. "This female bird was ringed and tagged near Hardley, Norwich, on 23.06.2023 and was one of 4 in the brood (3♀️ and 1♂️). This is the first sighting of her away from her natal area where she was last seen on 28.08.2023!"

I don't seem to bump into as many Grey Partridge as I used to on my wandering around NW Norfolk, so a pleasure to bump into thisvpair whilst out photographing Hares this evening.

Love it when the Terns come back! #SandwichTern at @rspbengland.bsky.social #TitchwellMarsh this morning

It's that Marsh Harrier time of year, when a spell in my favourite wooden box overlooking a small north Norfolk Marsh gives me a close-up and personal view of these amazing birds of prey. Today, there was a fine display of roller coaster sky dancing and a pair taking sticks into a patch of reed.

Back from a 2 days in Essex at #LifeOnTheEdge #LIFEProgramme conference. A chance to learn & share from others involved in this brilliant conservation programme, followed by a field trip to Northey Island on the wonderful Blackwater estuary, where this picturesque wreck caught my eye.

BREAKING: Plastic nurdles are washing up along miles of the Norfolk coast, including RSPB Titchwell, following last week’s North Sea collision.🚨 This area is vital for migrating & nesting birds. We have just days to act before this pollution spreads further. (1/2)

Long day behind the wheel of Dad's Taxi taking no1 son to play for West Norfolk Rugby Club boys under 16s against Lowestoft and Yarmouth Rugby Club. The whole team played well in a 48:20 win, and no1 was chuffed to be voted West's man of the match by the opposition! #WestNorfolkRugbyClub

Took a slow drive on some back roads across to Titchwell this morning hoping to photograph boxing Hares. But the highlight of the session was a very brief encounter with this Goshawk.

#ScarletElfCup @rspbengland.bsky.social #RSPBTitchwellMarsh today. Miniature spots of vivid colour by the side of the path.

No boxing March Hares this afternoon, but this Chinese Water Deer flew across a ploughed field.

Grabbed a couple of hours before dusk and drove the back roads across country to Titchwell. This Red Kite obliged by perching in a roadside tree and calling to it's unseen mate

Had an early morning drive across country to take my car to the garage in thick fog and a heavy frost. Paused on the way home to grab a few snaps on the phone camera. I'm not sure which of these three I like best.

"Perhaps most worrying for Reeves is not the political objections, but the way her justifications for putting Heathrow expansion back on to the agenda have been treated with widespread scorn."

Spring flexing its muscles in a Norfolk wood, Aconites poking through last autumn's leaf litter on a cold February afternoon.

Today was a good day. Early morning swim followed by a drive around The Wash to @rspbengland.bsky.social Frampton Marsh & Freiston Shore reserves. Brilliant to see the progress on the Freitopia habitat creation project & to look at Frampton. Ended with five minutes at dusk watching a Kingfisher.

Second work visit to the @rspbengland.bsky.social Broads reserves this week. A day of meetings at Strumpshaw Fen and an Al fresco walking and talking one to one at Buckenham Marshes accompanied by the whistling calls of thousands of Wigeon.

Five mile walk this morning around @rspbengland.bsky.social Titchwell Marsh and Thornham Point. Highlight was finding a flock of 33 Snow Buntings feeding on the strandline out at the Point. #NorfolkBirds

Work took me out east to Norwich, where I had a meeting with the NorfolkWildlife Trust in the lovely Norwich Cathedral refectory. Thought this gateway made a nice picture. Then, an afternoon spent with @rspbengland.bsky.social Strumpshaw Fen staff and volunteers at NWT Sweet Briar Marshes reserve.
