How much damage has been done to Bayern's appeal by Liverpool's offer? Are Bayern hellbent on getting him when they already have Musiala and Olise or did they just think they could strongarm Leverkusen into a below-market deal? I think Liverpool have played a blinder here and hopefully it works.

To see if a) Bayern are actually willing to put their money where their mouth is and b) is that hesitation/Bayern's tactics in the press enough to turn Wirtz' head to a destination he'd never previously considered. Liverpool continue to present themselves as uber-serious and professional.

He sees Liverpool throw down a massive offer and he sees Bayern hesitate to match and now he's left wondering how much Bayern really wanted him to begin with. Bayern start the press offensive we've seen in an attempt to pressure the deal into fruition and now it's a waiting game.

They were certain they'd get the kid for a price they're comfortable with (because that's what always happens). Now they have to decide how much do they actually want this one, beyond the fact he's the next big German thing and they think it's their birthright. Meanwhile, Wirtz is seeing all this.
