Working class Reform voters who want to fight the elites will soon be able to choose whether to be led by privately educated millionaires Nigel Farage and Richard Tice, or by privately educated millionaire Rupert Lowe.

The worst element of what happened this week isn't even about immigration specifically. It's that Starmer surrendered against populism.

Oh. news.sky.com/story/leaked...

Save this picture onto your phone. Keep similar pictures in a folder/album. And just put them out there "on the socials" once in a while...

Sky News release audio of Conservative Chris Philp admitting that Brexit makes it harder to return asylum seekers to countries in Europe That's right, inside the EU, with freedom of movement, the UK had the ability to return asylum seekers to Europe Brexit created the rise in small boat crossings

One of the things that enrages me about Labour’s approach is the reality that immigration hysteria is *entirely manufactured* Farage has used it to flog every con and it’s been in the tabloids, daily, for ten years. To the point that now even some Labour voters defend it. It’s fucking MADE UP.

Trump is in the Middle East lining his own pockets and those of his oligarch backers. Such corruption is so massive that we don’t even really know how to talk about it. I try to frame some issues and the stakes in today’s piece.

Reform councillor was sacked from the police after pretending to be sick... When he was actually on holiday in Spain. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Let me get this right….for the good of America, children have to have fewer toys and pencils but also for the good of America Trump must accept a $400mn bribe…ooops I mean airplane?

The man who wanted to ban all Muslims from entering the United States because of terrorism is meeting this week with the former head of Al Qaeda in Syria.

Labour has a whopping great majority and four years left to turn this country around. They should be setting the agenda, not chasing about trying to placate voters of a party with five MPs who will never vote for them anyway. It's not only disappointing... it's embarrassing

This sums it up.

"He’ll eat in a room with a floor covered in feces. He’ll ask, many times, for supplies to clean it up... he’ll gradually start to long to be deported to El Salvador, a country he barely knows. He’ll want this but won’t get it, because this is an ICE jail." How is every story worst than the last?

Meanwhile…in other non-immigration developments…

What immigrants from all over the world have done for this country is tremendous. “Incalculable”, even. 🇬🇧♥️🌎

That went well. Alienated your voter base and MPs, Reform voters still hate you and The Mail still drags you because, unlike Reform, they don’t think you really *believe* in racist policy. I mean, who saw that coming? *points at self* You win by stopping this bullshit.

How can I defend their nonsensical bollocks on immigration? Profoundly depressing

HHS Secretary RFK Jr. posted photos of himself swimming in a sewage-filled creek. A fitting metaphor for his entire approach to public health. www.mediaite.com/politics/rfk...

I’m one of those dodgy immigrants who came here on a spouse visa and got indefinite leave to remain after 12 months. The incalculable harm I have done to the UK includes dedicating my life to public service, educating thousands of British young people, and paying more tax than I’ll ever get back.

I did consider making a speech about tackling poverty, taxing the rich, nationalising utilities and properly funding the NHS and social care, but then I thought... nah, just go full Enoch Powell.

Well done Labour Anyone who thought you represented real change now despises you. Anyone who didn’t, still won’t. People who weren’t that convinced but hoped for the best are out of patience. You’ve managed to turn off everyone. Quite the achievement!

Even if Starmer suggested rendering every migrant into glue it wouldn't satisfy Reform or the Mail. The politics of today's announcement is baffling.

Another breathtaking comms victory secured by pandering, once again, to the frothing bigots on the right I see.

Today, the Covid Inquiry heard how Boris Johnson lied to the British public about the UK's ability to Test & Trace. Those in power knew that a lack of planning and underinvestment had left the country unprepared, and they tried to cover it up. Our loved ones paid the price.

Incredibly depressing day. I've spent my entire life being told by British governments how dreadful immigration is. New Labour did it. The Coalition. The Brexiters. Now Starmer. All of them accusing the ones who came before them of failing to clamp down. The same old vacant mean-spirited bollocks.

Today, Starmer said he’d “take back control of our borders” and claimed that soaring immigration had done “incalculable damage” to our country. No. That damage is done by the ruinous dishonesty of our politicians and the hatred whipped up by their ugly anti-immigrant rhetoric. Shame on you, Starmer.

Starmer is simultaneously detoxifying Reform and toxifying the Labour Party. I ask again, what is he playing at?

We use ‘Left-wing’ and Right-wing’ as identifying markers on the political spectrum. But ‘Left vs Right’ isn’t the key battle now. The real battle is essentially between humanity and inhumanity. It is our humanity that is under assault. Kindness over hate. westenglandbylines.co.uk/politics/its...

Art of the Deal!!

Those who are uncomfortable with this Labour immigration announcement, but think it's necessary to satisfy Reform voters, this is for you. You will not satisfy. You will never satisfy.

Trump Republicanism at its finest. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

It’s incredible that the President of the United States is openly flirting with suspending Habeas Corpus, disappearing people left and right, arresting judges and politicians, accepting ludicrous bribes from foreign countries, and people are still trying to normalize this shit.

What on earth is going on with Starmer, Cooper & Labour? What a waste of a strong majority, & what a mess they are making of their programme of "change" & "growth". I thought only the Tories & Reform could make me ashamed of my country. I was wrong.

i'm sorry, i do just kind of think you're a bad person if you value human lives differently based on where they were born.

Personally, I think it’s a marvellous thing and a great privilege that you can meet, befriend and learn from people from all over the world without having to invest in a plane ticket. But then I’m not trying to appeal to Reform voters so hard I accidentally Enoch Powelled.

Very ashamed today of Starmer/Labour's comments about 'island of strangers' and 'incalculable damage'. It's the job of the government to leave the country in a better place than they found it, not to appeal to the base instincts of a nation in order simply to carry on governing.

I am proud of what immigrants like my mum and those across Luton North have given to our country. Many serve in our NHS, open biz, enrich culture/arts & much more. The best way to avoid becoming an ‘island of strangers’ is investing in communities to thrive - not pitting people against each other.

Starmer's speech today was shameful from a Labour government: pandering, dishonest and inflammatory. To say "the damage this has done to our country is incalculable" is language no politician should use about migrants who have come to the UK and contributed to our economy and society.

Starmer's anti-immigrant speech today wasn't just a moral and political embarrassment. It was also an intellectual embarrassment. inews.co.uk/opinion/star...

What does Starmer do tomorrow when the papers still hate him and people are still going to vote Reform? Seriously, what is his next move when this makes things even worse for him and Labour?

I hope you’re not waiting for some clever defence of Starmer’s speech. As you know, I try to be fair and have praised him on foreign policy. I don’t think the White Paper is terrible, but ALL of the language surrounding it is inexcusable, insupportable, and indefensible. He can kiss my migrant butt.

Immigration is a beautiful thing and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise ❤️

When govts stop panicking and announcing policy to “challenge” Nigel effing Farage, we may stand a chance of fixing the mess that Nigel effing Farage helped to make. Until then, we will stay stuck in this populist dead end, loudly blowing our dog whistle at the world and wondering why nothing works.

As long as there’s a single brown face in this country, Reform voters won’t be happy. You could stop immigration today but it won’t affect those already here so Reform won’t be happy. But Starmer is validating the belief that foreigners are a problem. It’s wrong, disgusting & appalling from Labour.

The newspapers, the Labour branding on Facebook, the obsession with Immigration rather than fixing the problems they blame the immigrants *for*... What THE FUCK is going on with Labour? And most depressingly: will it even work? youtu.be/vzWXPcbWfJI

One of the many problems with Labour trying to appeal to Reform voters is that Reform constantly moves goalposts. *if* today’s white paper takes the wind out of the ‘we need to leave the ECHR’ campaign sails, they’ll just pivot to something else. Said as much on Sky news last night….

This is Labour's core problem here. The right will never allow Starmer a win on immigration because the issue is central to their appeal and therey' daren't lose it. So whatever he does will never be enough.
