I hope you’re not waiting for some clever defence of Starmer’s speech. As you know, I try to be fair and have praised him on foreign policy. I don’t think the White Paper is terrible, but ALL of the language surrounding it is inexcusable, insupportable, and indefensible. He can kiss my migrant butt.

Immigration has made this country better, culturally and economically. Why can't we stand up for that?
It absolutely has, I agree. 👍
Like everything “ it is more complicated than it first seems”
A ridiculous phrase which is incalculably offensive.
The UK has been built on immigration since time immemorial.
When did we not have immigration bolstering the economy.
Show me a family in the UK that has not at least one immigrant ancestor.
Conservatives have created this hostile environment.. we should welcome people wherever they come from.. the whole UK is better because of immigration.. the Labour Party has been a bit scared of making the positive case for immigration.. I think we need to turn that round"
it has only taken him 7 months to topple the Tories as ‘The Nasty Party’
I joined the Green Party Last week.
Cowardly snivelling bigot appeaser.
Does he really believe this stuff? I find it a stretch that the son of a tool maker and former human rights lawyer is really ‘for’ this.
Honestly, I’m baffled.
So far I'm underwhelmed.
Haven't read the white paper because the PMs forward made me feel queasy.
Appalling language to use, dangerous, xenophobic, insulting.
They could have made it a positive of improving wages, conditions and training in the UK to make roles that are difficult to recruit for easier to fill work domestic workers without criticising immigration.
They can be devilish to put out.

Make it make sense.
There were newspaper articles just some days ago that mentioned that McSweeney believes Labour can safely ignore its liberal center-left voters and pander to the "hero voters".
That Labour in 2029 simply has to shout at its core voters:
"Vote for us or you´ll get Farage".
Sure lot´s of voters - given that awful choice - will vote Labour. And feel alienated and angry at Labour. But a percentage will vote for the LibDems or Greens. And a perhaps even larger percentage won´t vote at all. While Reform voters will vote Reform.
I cannot believe the crap coming out of Starmer's mouth. It's shameful.
They believe (foolishly) that the Brexit cohort is about 50% still which would be a huge majority in FPTP.
They also believe
"Capital crimes chewed, swallowed and digested," against the country Starmer claims to love.
Coriolanus II.
The plonker.
White coats scenario
The moment he backstabbed Corbyn's principles, he told us who he was. And he's been showing us how much worse he is ever since he won.
Adding in “pissing off anyone to the left of Geert Wilders” is obviously the chef’s kiss of Amazeballs Moves that will definitely build a winning coalition in 2029.
Not sure for who though…
How am I supposed to look him in the eye?

What is perhaps most ridiculous of all though is that Starmer is possibly now one of the least popular populists in history. Quite the achievement…
Thank you for once again being true to yourself.
He was in the army and I was born in Brunei. I was in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary for 10 years. Are we undesirable now?
How dare he?
I’m starting to not only regret lending them my vote at the GE, but to feel actively ashamed that I voted for them.
I won’t make the same mistake again.
Twat.
Personally godless but have been married to a Buddhist for 30 years. Unlikely they have her in mind.
Flags? Blue with stars was nice. Failing that, it needs a big dragon.
Family. Oh boy.
This is just perverse.
Starmer's 10 pledges to the membership make interesting reading.
The party/caninet/whatever really need to wake up.
I'mvery unhappy but, with no campaigning around here for a while I can afford to sit tight and see how the year pans out. It also keeps my vote alive for any leadership challenge.
I won't vote on single issues or in a manner that will simply allow a worse government in
Jenrick was on ITV this morning, a timely reminder of what awaits those that throw their toys away without considering the consequences.
Sadly they have caught themselves up in this mess and the "we are never returning to free movement" bollocks that is absolutely not progressive.
It's a disappointing, mixed, bag.
Who ever wrote this needs sacking
It’s like immigration is too high but instead of tackling the skills shortages or lack of housing and health
They blame employers and migrants
They have a huge majority, a lot of talent but are squandering good will

Credit where it's due
On this, it's clearly not
I think a lot of the base is choosing to stay home now unless they get a good Green candidate to vote for.
Also every vote for the Green party is a signal to Labour that they are going in the wrong direction
I've a bad feeling they've paved the way for Reform.

They’re offering a better vision.
There's been a fight for the soul of Labour for many years but after yesterday and today there's no soul left.
I think the paper's terrible. There's no future for our country or Labour in a xenophobic Disneyland.
"Oh, so you prefer the tories/Farage/magic grandpa do you? DO YOU??"
(Although I was never quite sure of the effectiveness of the latter and seems particularly hard on real Keith's)
Spineless, morally empty and politically weak. What a waste of a 172 majority
I've been fuming all day - I would fucking leave tomorrow if I could.
But I appreciate the sentiment.
Those that shout the loudest get heard. Sadly it’s the damn bigots & xenophobes.
That has to change.
But I appreciate the sentiment...
I appreciate the sentiment. Thank you.
It's just really tiring...
Oh, leaving is not an option at the moment, but I'm going to start making plans. Maybe Ireland - I lived and worked there for several years...
Made some yummy rock cakes and I make a mean coffee.
You’re welcome…
You put a smile on my face :)
Thank you.
(Doesn’t mean you have to vote greens of course)
