I've rewatched P. I think that it's a good concept and soundtrack but the movie was improved by the thematically fitting celluloid destruction when I watched it first.

And that was only his second film ;) I am also often surprised that I've only seen "Pi" (at a college where about 2 minutes of the beach scene melted in the projector). Many of his other films it feels like I've seen since I've read enough about them and watched clips. Still a failure of mine.

I couldn't find anything with a quick search but I have a pretty strong memory that the O's at Camden Yards used to groom the infield in a particular way to favor bunts, which at that time they did more than other teams. Or something like that.

I actually had to skip seeing them on their last tour in the US (had seen them twice before). I still wish I had gone every year on this anniversary.

I was curious what the odds are now and found this helpful post from reddit (even if 12-22 is a bit too short of a window). :) www.reddit.com/r/GlacierNat... but at least better than a 2/3rd chance it'd be open by June 25 based on their analysis.

Been a few decades but went with my family in late June, I think the road had only been opened a few days so we lucked out. Jut stayed in Whitefish since we visited on our way to Calgary. Really should find and digitize my photos from that trip.

It feels like it's de facto illegal to build playground south of Duke St and between Jordan and Wheeler... 🙃

I watched it, not long ago, for the first time with my kids. Great show. I also find Kristen Schaal's ability to be both a huge part of that and Bob's Burgers (which we're slowly watching more of) pretty incredible.

Oddly(?) the English lyrics they recorded at the time seem to have "hate" for the whole song which makes it both less interesting and more aggressive. I wonder if a higher fidelity translation is possible.

I'll say my best understanding of this is that in German to begin it sounds like he's saying 'you, you hate, you hate me' but when 'gefragt' is added it changes to 'you asked me' (hast vs hasst) and so on. A play on how German works and the particular accent. I think.

I fell asleep watching the most recent one and I almost never fall asleep watching movies...

It's... trickier now with what the star has done since but it's just wild how well everything worked at that time and those actors. I haven't rewatched 2 & 3 recently but my guess is I'd like them more in retrospect.

Don't know if you've seen it, but the musical version is also charming and has some pretty catchy songs, if you have a chance to see it.

I don't use them very much but I recently took a Lyft and the driver asked me how much Lyft charged me (so the drivers can't see?) and it was ~$27. He said he was getting paid $10 for the ride.

I remember hearing stories of people who would un- and then re-plug appliances at midnight to reset the clocks, which is similar but less extreme.
