You recently wrote a post considering the origins of your connection to horror. This was the first horror movie I saw at age 11.5. You made me think about my first encounters. Stephen King books for sure but no film earlier than JAWS.

With all the depth of character present in the film, it's difficult to reconcile that this was based on a short story by Stephen King.

Great observation. You're right. I only remember him running away. The problem with fast zombies is you have to make A LOT of split second decisions. I would do better with slow zombies. And even then, late morning/ early afternoon.

Credit where credit is due, that's pretty funny. I bet AOC would agree.

Wet a brown paper bag put the bread inside, bake on low heat for 5 minutes or so. Bread restored! Sort of.

The original series really stood out for it's frequent periods of silence in the soundtrack. It was like a real cinematic experience from a television that otherwise blasted uninterrupted noise, lest we look away.

This is one you can watch over and over again. I found myself frustrated that there no subtitles provided. Some of the dialogue just went over my head.

I read that Michael Duncan Clarke (RIP), frustrated with being mistaken for other actors, carried 5$ bills with him to give to children who correctly remembered his name.

Anthropomorphizing animals that you like is a slippery slope. People use polar bears as an avatar for climate change losses but insects and even microorganisms play a significant untold role in our world.

I won tickets to Porky's from a call-in radio contest by correctly answering the question, "Who is the only person to speak in Silent Movie? " (Was not impressed with Porky's)

John Wojtowicz, whom Pacino's character was based on, having served his time, started hanging around in front of the bank and hawking signed copies of the film for cash making the bank employees (some of whom still worked there) very uncomfortable. Not sure if/how that was resolved.

I read that Murray was really nervous about filming the fight scene with DeNiro " This guy was in Raging Bull, what if he starts throwing combinations?"
