I write things that explain other things for USA TODAY NETWORK Florida. I also take pictures, mostly for me. My opinions are my own and I only agree with about half of them. He/him.

It is actively hurting me not to get this. Except for all the reasons I can’t get this.

Oof. I laid there for half an hour or so before getting up and only then noticed the glasses that had been on top of my head were now on the floor about 10 feet away, stomped on.
Bent em back in place, more or less, resigning myself to headaches till I adjust.
Needed new ones anyway.

I don’t know if it’s in the cards, but I would love for Kevin R. Free to voice ART. The audiobooks are amazing, it would be great to get him involved somewhere.

Oh, very much so.
I’d like to think that Murderbot would take time away from vital security responsibilities to watch “Murderbot.”

It’s not helping that the episodes are short enough that it seems like the cliffhanger should go to commercial and then start another one.

Combine them with Gomez and Morticia Addams and Armand and Albert from “The Birdcage” and you pretty much have me and Teresa.

Hard copies and records are useful. Print books can’t be yanked off your devices. Getting off social media helps with stress.
Some college students are joining the Reconnect Movement to get away from smartphones, at least for a little while.

When a chatbot gets something wrong, it’s not because it made an error. It’s because on that roll of the dice, it happened to string together a group of words that, when read by a human, represents something false. But it was working entirely as designed. It was supposed to make a sentence & it did.

“Hello McFly! Hello in there! Summarize ‘the yellow wallpaper’ and ‘the bell jar’ in the style of a precocious but not gifted teen, then propose a theme, providing 5 points of similarity and 3 points of difference within that theme…and don’t forget to end with a trenchant conclusion, McFly.”

Second pair of sunglasses for driving. I take a lot of photos, it would drive me crazy trying to look through the lens if my glasses kept going dark.

Hoffman was short first. When officers went to check on Hortman, who lived just 9 miles away, they found “a police vehicle in the driveway with emergency lights and what appeared to be a police officer at the door coming out of the house.” It was the assassin. They watched him leave.

I don’t know the law for it, but it may not be a good idea to be seen with anything at all that can be considered (or argued to be) a weapon.

The one time I visited LA I saw Jon Lovitz talking to someone at an outside cafe. I wasn’t going to bother him but took a sneaky pic with my flip phone, which in hindsight was probably even more obvious.
My friend, a native, gave me a “are you kidding me?” look.
Hey, “The Critic” rocked.

The smirk he gives when his therapist asks if he’s found a worthy opponent (chef’s kiss).
Also, good on them for bringing in Faye Dunaway and casting an age-appropriate romantic foil. Love this movie.

I always want books from friends signed. It personalizes them, makes them specifically for me.
But I try to make a point of visiting friends’ book launches and buying them, so they’re usually signed anyway.

There is a great nursery in central Florida (Lukas) with a butterfly attraction and a huge section of clearly marked “butterfly friendly” plants for sale.
When we go, I tend to buy the ones that butterflies are actually visiting while we shop.

If your actions "arose from" someone "acting in furtherance of a riot," Florida law allows you to plead self-defense if you cause property damage or injure or kill someone. But only in civil cases. It doesn't specify how you damage anything (i.e. with a car).

You're right, my stories that are up are getting the same traffic as usual, so everything isn't completely broken. But I can't publish any new ones yet. Frustrating.

Google Cloud is having issues, and that's affecting every site that uses it. Found out from our ciompany's tech support.

I’ve been taking the slow route. Every day I bring up Memories and delete most of them, keeping only posts I might want to have later. It’s been cathartic.
