Thanks for bringing this up, honestly I couldn’t put my finger on why this syntax bothers me. IMO this (and `as`) have the same issue: the data isn’t actually validated, so I’d recommend against the cast.
In this example, I’d imagine validating with Pydantic (or any type guard) to produce the type.
