yup! I have a 3d printed adapter that lets you screw different toppers onto it. I'll publish it soon. It isn't complicated but it has to be really strong so I had to do a bunch of tests. I think I've got one that can hold up now.

in the past I used a software called Gearotic Motion. You can lay out a whole gear train quickly and export as an svg or dxf. This was years ago, I'd hope they would add 3d model export by now. It was super convenient though.
