One thing Trump has done is highlight how little education or intelligence it takes to rise in America’s cult of personality. These fools are all rich or famous but still jaw-dropping ill-informed.

Unfortunately, people are grasping "AI" as if it's some magic formula to replace human thought and ingenuity with "perfect, unbiased generative machine thought". Evidence suggests that human insight remains a critical component in the process.

Ironically, the Trump win was the final nail for many 20-something’s deciding not to bring children into this current world, even before the destruction started.

Wonder what it would cost to buy a pair of spurs for each warfighter forced to march in this debacle?

Looking for something positive as an outcome for this is difficult BUT a friend of mine at college was brought up in a VERY literal evangelical Christian household. He came to University and found out that women and men had the same numbers of ribs (among other facts) and all the lies crumbled.

These always remind me of an old “Benny Hill” sketch. Benny is a pilgrim talking to one of his “Angels” beside a man in stocks for impure thoughts. The woman repeatedly makes double-entendre statements whereupon Benny beats the man for his own impure thoughts.

Unfortunately, social media is a stronger force of propaganda than even the Nazis had at their disposal….and the average German believed and accepted their truth until forced to face reality after losing the war.

That’s about the worst kept secret in South Dakota. But she also had a lot of flack from her Credit Card spending as governor….

This story by the CBC may describe what people already know about the calculations, but they are dumbfounded about the stupidity of the US government

Selling his soul to try and hold on to the illusion of power. Congress, and this budget, are now irrelevant. Trump/Musk will do whatever they want independent of any input from either party now. Repubs are just rubber stamps, Dems silent.

Well, ain't authoritarianism grand. Technically, by the last bullet "topics that have received media attention" includes Cancer, for the National Cancer Institute scientists. And I'm not sure by "authored" they don't include social media posts.

Well, at least we can say our government is more elite than others. All they have to pay is time to vote, now we have to scrape up $5M apiece for representative democracy.

Didn’t Secretary Rollins say that they were importing eggs to drop the cost and boost availability? Where are these eggs coming from?

Ok, first I thought “Germany 1933”. Then it started to look like Russia after the wall fell. Now it’s smelling like Marcos’ Philippines. Can they just pick a lane?

Musk and Trump are expert businessmen in only one way - taking over companies, and then taking as much out for themselves while running them into the ground and bankrupting investors - except this time, it's the US and not Twitter or Trump Casinos....

So, do they pay the $5M directly to Trump, or launder it through DOGE first?

It seems to be radically oversold, which is my concern. As a "do exactly what and how I say" tool it is reasonable, but even the non-consumer facing ones have a long ways to go before their usefulness as standalones (as opposed to tools) are valid in science. Too many mistakes still.
