Where dreams are made

Can't wait to listen. 20 years ago I invited in older people into my school to talk about growing up in WW2. One chap told them that in 1940 he was their age, sat right where there, watching a German plane bomb Avonmouth docks, and 5 years later he was in Berlin. Really hammered the point home.

Bit harsh on washed up brain damaged wrestlers on their fifth comeback I’d say

No commitment you kids.

Excellent. I suggest we both wear berets on stage at our next gig, I did after all win an award from The Chap magazine for my rakish beret wearing.

We watched it last night, really enjoyed it.

Sounds like a euphemism for a really dehydrated piss with an odd aroma.

It's such a great little lane but such a shame how often it smells of piss :-(

wait, what? Does our PR know about your old bands? I only know of, 'some boogie band' in London you were in, one with Haircut 100's old drummer, and a band with a guy so annoying that you drew straws as to who got to fire him. I believe he became an extra on The XFiles.

Funnily enough a few years ago I went there to see some drums for sale. They were neither: 1) Ringos 2) any good Nice to see the insides though.

Watched Danny from the side of the stage at the pretty small Bristol Bierkeller many moons ago (1994), and he was incredible. Phenomenal player but the man also turns those mad time sigs into grooves, the mark of a real player.

Supported them at The Fleece in 1994 & interviewed Debbie & Sonya after for my journalism course afterwards. They were very nice.

Always found the World in Action them and opening a bit scary. It's quite intense & the graphics are a bit sinister. It also meant it was getting on a bit on Sunday night & skool in the morning. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uLP...

I was looking for the World in Action music because of the similar look but found this instead, which isn't that far off from that cover. Curious. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0l_x...

Great episode & series BUT @willdalrymple.bsky.social John Bonham was the drummer in Led Zeppelin, not Jon Paul Jones. Go back & listen to Led Zep I, II, & III as penance.

I love The The, love listening to them very late at night.

you’d have to ask @empirepoduk.bsky.social why, but I guess they’re featuring history writers not those there, like in other series which have touched on modern history. I’ve not read the book but I believe it is far more historically minded than the tv series, which I thought was v. Impressive.

Will check that out. Been playing Lynchian inspired music for years in Narco Lounge Combo, dark, brooding, sexy, dangerous; it’s what music is for. narcoloungecombo.bandcamp.com/track/fire-a...

love that section round the back of those houses on Windmill Hill, something oddly special about it there. Think it then goes round the back of the farm before it goes underground onto Southville by Brook rd and then out onto the New Cut.

Fun city. Massive but with lots of great things to do. Music is amazing.

Nice. Always love seeing pics of guys on the road playing sports in between gigs.

Huzzah. Glad I fixed the auditorium radiators then so it was nice & toasty. Didn’t find any ladies in them though 🤔
