Favorite China memory: a guy comes over to fix the air conditioner in my apartment, and needs to climb out the 5 story window because the unit is outside the building. The guy wraps a rope around his waste, hands the other end to me, and I serve as an anchor while he climbs out the window lol

If ever there was a place to look for a pundit with a finger on the pulse of the median American voter, it is a rabbit-themed group chat in San Francisco.

We must make it a requirement that people spend time canvasing or otherwise interacting with voters at the street level before they are allowed to post/podcast, imho

They are low-key the first/only wearable accessory that huge numbers of people actually wear on a daily basis (because people don't think of them as a wearable accessory.)

Better to save it as a hand-on date activity to do together, like Build-A-Bear or wine/painting parties.

A trailblazer who taught all of us in the bald and balding community to be proud of who we are.

I understand your point, but I regret to inform you that my uncle Bill's racism is not at all subtle.

do you think he talks about it longingly because it is a symbol of the carefree life he enjoyed before he became burdened with the responsibilities fatherhood?

Yeah, and there is no dignified way to respond to it

We've all been there, and I wish I could tell you that you're not alone but that would be a lie. You are alone. Always have been.

I don't think Tom would ever lie to his fans like that though

This is reasonable, can't say I disagree.. I also think there are reasons why a reasonable person might want to use some other definition of working class in a different context. But social media is not conducive to having a nuanced discussion about how to best define statistical categories.

Going to go out on a limb and say that Bluesky (or any other social media) is not conducive to having a productive, nuanced conversation about how to best define statistical categories.

I mean I can think of people who have been divorced a greater number of times. But you're right -- when it comes to the intensity of divorcedness, Elon cannot be beat.

And not just distract from the economy, but distract from a completely unnecessary, self-inflected wound which the president made a point of promoting as a landmark day in American history lol
