Historian of economics. I work on the history of American economics, and institutional economics. Recent interests include the “scam economy” that I think needs more attention and the history of African Americans in the discipline of economics.

Tod is the most boring military parade I have ever seen. Troops shambling by and then a single tank followed at a distance by another tank. Wonder who was in charge of that.

Sloppiest marching I have ever seen. How about a little snap?

If you want to set the rules it would be good if you or someone in your administration knew a bit of international trade economics instead of this sh*t Navarro is peddling.

Maybe they should raise their own food standards to those of Europe and Canada. Firing all the food safety people doesn’t help either.

That’s what I plan. I also have a nexus card.

So every grant from a government agency has to “support the president’s agenda”? No other criteria allowed?

Oops. I’m supposed to go to U of Richmond for the HES conference in late June to give a paper on the first generation of African American PhDs in Economics. Wondering if I should go. My topic is kind of DEI!

And as a savings vehicle it is subject to a lot of sudden variation. So one with a substantial amount of risk compared to others.

As a speculative asset it is not a substitute for money or something that is ever going to be popular for making regular transactions. Gold or stocks and shares are not money substitutes and neither is bitcoin.

Bitcoin is a speculative asset.

To be viable a stand alone Canadian car industry would have to export a lot of cars!

It’s a little more than a side effect—it’s a direct consequence of the massive consumption of fossil fuel.

He should be explicit about what “aggressive incursions” have occurred in Greenland. Canada and Denmark are aware the strategic situation in the Arctic is changing . . . Thanks to human caused CLIMATE CHANGE.

Who runs on stage waving a chain saw to celebrate making thousands of people unemployed?

Western “civilization “ is busy destroying the planet. Fewer rampantly consuming westerners will be an improvement.

So any idea is as good as any other. No appraisal please!

Crypto transactions costs are significant which is why it’s a poor substitute for regular $ for most transactions.

There is no such thing as a fixed standard. And bitcoin most certainly is not. It is a speculative asset subject to wild swings in relative value.

Unbelievable. Or rather, I wish it was unbelievable!

It is remarkable that she thinks that the concerns and interests of other Provinces should count for nothing at all.

And what argument is that exactly?

Egg prices are up, interest rates are the same, and tariffs have only been in for a day so money has only just started pouring out of American pockets!
comment in response to post
These tariffs only apply above a tariff free quota that has never been reached. Canadians do not like US dairy as it contains hormones and antibiotics. Over half the tariff free milk quota is unused.

Just the same as trying to replace income tax with a sales tax. This is not free money that comes from outside.

Daniel: any prospect you might be interested in a proposal for an HES session at the ASSAs? Cleo Chassonnery-Zaigouche has a possible paper on Phyllis Wallace and another on the lead up to Becker called “From Prejudice to Choices” that she has suggested. We would need one more.

Why is is idiot addressing his letter to President Trump at the White House. Doesn’t he know Trump isn’t President yet?
comment in response to post
Canada should do the same although the conservatives are already showing signs of infection.
