Clouds doing cloud things today. The initial vertical develops hits a stable layer and spreads out.

Mom and dad with their 4 cygnets at Potter Marsh today. The one on the left honked several times at the one of the right. The right one was about 50 feet away and by itself. I think it was time to take the cygnets to bed because the other one came over and they disappeared behind the cat tails.

She locked eyes with me and gave me a stern "mom look.' I said, "Yes, ma'am."

Clouds doing cloud things.

I have been informed this is more likely a Pretty Jacob's-Ladder. I'm more skilled at identifying the aurora than flowers.

Front yard update. The forget-me-not comes up in the same spot every year. The center will change color after pollination.

Sat Night was amazingly clear. This is looking NE from the coastal trail just west of Earthquake Park. Part of the Anchorage Port is seen with Matanuska Peak standing tall behind it (~45miles/72km away). The orange glow in sky is because the sun was below the northern skyline (12:15am).

I saw a moose and her calf taking in the sights at McHugh. So I took their photo.

Moose calf demonstrating how squishy Mom's nose is. Twin looks on in amazement.

These two were rubbing heads for a solid minute last night.

Breaking news: Mamma Moose came by with her 1 day old dandelion control specialist!!! This is the best day ever!

Boudoir moose.

Moose form the shape of a shark to scare off predators when napping. True story.

A surfer doing surfer things with the bore tide yesterday and a mountain doing mountain (avalanche) things.

This is the largest dandelion control specialist I get in my yard and it hasn’t eaten a single dandelion. Sad!

Moose lapse in the making.

It’s point at white animals on the mountain season again.

Seems moody and wet.

Current view. Sunset is 1103pm (in 18 min). Mosquitos aren’t bad yet. Im bracing for the mosquito terror in the coming days.

Did an ADHD bird stop by the bird bath and forget that it was building a nest???

Denali National Park has an interesting take on TikTok.

Winter and late Summer Aurora from the same spot. Aurora season is over here now. It's time to swat bugs, stop on highways for construction season, harvest food, and watch bewildered and bedazzled tourists.

The mountains looks naked without snow. Sorry for not censoring with a black rectangle for those with sensitivities.

I rate this landing a 9.7. Small deduction for step. I’ve not seen the pair since last year. They’re back! Upon the 3rd feeing it buried the almonds in the yard, which the squirrel will find. Spring time!

I should have saved this for Mother's Day. 😅 Happy Mother's day to all those wonderful mothers.

1023PM. Salmon sunset colors.

For those that prefer to pretend I took a photo of a moose in the moonlight (and it was actually dark outside). For the photo curious, the moose was shot at 209mm and the moon at 400mm.

I took a photograph of last night's moon just before I went to bed. It was 17% empty. In my post edit, I darkened the sky from blue to black.

A new moose composite for your viewing pleasure.

Turnagain Arm. It’s not hard to look at.

May the 4th Moose.

There was a pulsing aurora last night! This was close to 2am AK time. The sky isn't getting to full darkness any more and the birch trees are growing out their leaves.

There were thunderstorms north of town today! ⛈️ That one updraft area was stationary for a little while.
