Before the TCJA, the standard deduction was $9k for head of household. TCJA extension in OBBB + OBBB brings it up to $24K.
Its definitely NOT optics, and I have no idea why someone would itemize it, they shouldn't?

You trolling or dont know what any of this means?

They steal jordans to fund immigration lawyers no doubt. Feed their families, like AOC said.

Illegal aliens should not benefit from illegally immigrating to the US, no.

$100k in deductions? What?
comment in response to

Its $15k Single / $30k Joint standard deductions for $100k earners.
You'd need to have $15k+ in itemized to justify that, which I dont see a lot of people opting into itemization.

No.

The TCJA is about to expire, and the permanent extension is in the OBBB.

My belief is the billionaire exploiting foreign labor for profit margins, is acting against the tariffs, to protect those profit margins.
What's your thought on her investment in this cause?

Literally every political policy has beneficiaries.
Every single one.

You think the heiress to Wal-Mart is socially conscious? π

They contribute $8B but cost $30B total for the state. My post was purely about the specific cost of a particular Healthcare program, not the total.

This argument is so stupid.
Teachers are privileged already. They do not deserve anything, while failing at their basic function in society. The fact that Im not supporting taxing half of their income in retaliation to their lobbying against other industries, is the most they will get from me.

So you suggest the Shanghai billionaire financed, multiple billionaire backed protest, against oligarchs in politics and unelected leadership.... is valid?

The teachers dont get OT, and so they dont get OT tax breaks. Why dont they get OT? Thats their unions job, not mine.
comment in response to

Musk backed a political campaign. A protest against Trump, is not a political agenda.

The teacher makes $12k more for 3+ months less work.
comment in response to
post
Security / factory makes 1/3rd what a teacher does, and all 3 of those jobs have at least 3 months more work in a year than a teacher.
comment in response to
post
The avg American income is half of what a teacher makes..... so, no sympathy really.
comment in response to

In California, we spend $9.5B in illegal alien Healthcare a year.
Do the math on that one.
comment in response to

Ignoring the average American income, tax brackets, and all other metrics.... teachers dont even work for 2/3 months in summer, 2-3 weeks for winter break, federal holidays, etc.
They also dont work overtime.
So, the fact theyre making the same as cops, is actually wild.

Do you deny that the Walton heiress bought a full page ad promoting the "No Kings" protests, or do you deny that billionaire heiress to multiple corporations is somehow spot on with her assessment of the Trump administration, and its not because she's losing money on imported goods?
comment in response to

You literally just argued that teachers should get a break, and the taxes hurt the poor. Now youre saying that the warehouse workers dont deserve the cuts.
Pick....a....lane.
comment in response to
post
One of those policies benefits warehouse workers working 16hr shifts in our logistics who have been ignored for decades, and the other is a policy for college graduates who make exponentially more than avg, to get a bailout.
Not the same at all.
comment in response to

No tax on OT/tips is in the bill, SS is reduced but not eliminated like we want because resistance, and TCJA expansion is keeping the current deductions.
They also shoved in a tax deduction on car loan interest, Trump accounts for children born while these policies are in effect, and a whole lot.
comment in response to
post
Ah, but if thats correct, than the majority of the tax burden would be on the upper tax brackets consuming foreign goods, and the redistribution of those funds would be to the lower tax brackets through domestic blue collar job growth and tax cuts like OT/ tips. Can't have that.
comment in response to
post
The same could be said about an astroturfed movement with corporate billionaire backing. Is it a coincidence that the Walton family heiress is promoting an opposition to tariffs and financially supporting the protests against Trump? Is there no propaganda when it comes to your views?
comment in response to
post
The US military might and policing, provides economic security for opportunistic nations who know we dramatically overpay for goods and consume at a larger rate than any other nation. We should cut back on consumerism and produce in country. This solves those problems as well.

Same person, knowledge I have today, and put in a position where I would be knowledgeable of the expansion? I would probably denounce it for the violence and argue it was profiting the elites, knowing me.

I literally pointed out the conflict of interest of me saying it was a net benefit and my personal bias.
So no, Im NOT promoting it on the basis of my identity cohort, because I told you to ignore it, and did not state it as an objective truth like a liberal would.
