Now is the test ... How many Labour MPs many of them hand-picked by Labour Central Office when it was actively campaigning against Jeremy Corbyn have the guts to stand up to Starmer and put constituents in need before personal ambition & greed

The Labour government's changes to Personal Independence Payment (PIP) will drive disabled people further into poverty. Scrap the plans now! Join us tomorrow, 1:30pm in Old Market Square, along with charity Disability Support, Notts TUC and Unite Community to stand for a more humane welfare system.

Keir Starmer's 'concessions' on the cruel welfare bill are not good enough and would create an unjust two-tier benefits system. The Green Party is calling on Labour MPs to stand firm against this inadequate offer and for the Prime Minister to withdraw the bill.

"Green party urges Labour MPs to keep fighting welfare bill, saying even with U-turn it's still not 'humane'" Great to see @sianberry.bsky.social leading on this

'The hefty cut to health-related support, around 50%, will remain in place for new claimants. A dramatic rise in poverty is inevitable.' Read our Handbook Editor's breakdown of the Government's concessions - and why killing the bill is the only option. www.disabilityrightsuk.org/news/dr-uk-h...

More than 500 trade unionists have now signed a letter to the government opposing the disability cuts bill. #DPAC @dpac-cymru.bsky.social @unitetheunion.bsky.social @tssa.bsky.social @tuc.org.uk @unison.org.uk @prospectunion.bsky.social @pcsunion.bsky.social dpac.uk.net/2025/06/trad...

Labour are playing parliamentary games at the cost of disabled peoples’ lives. This compromise is just that. It’s making a deadly policy only slightly less deadly. Disabled people deserve support, not austerity.

Disabled people are not a political deal. As these back-room conversations happen, has anyone thought of the Disabled people whose lives will be impacted? The Government is still attempting to slash billions of pounds from a system that doesn't provide enough support as it is.

Lies damn lies & government statistics: * incapacity spending has increased from 0.8% of GDP in 2007 to 1.0% in 2023. * incapacity spending has decreased from 1.2% of GDP in 1994 to 1.0% in 2023. Both statements technically true, and both meaningless & bad stats without context. 1/2

Oxfam has found that billionaires pay effective tax rates close to 0.3% of their wealth. UK billionaires’ wealth increased by £35m a day in 2024. The world is now on track to see five trillionaires within a decade. Tax. The. Rich.

With the first reading of the barbaric and unjust disability benefit cuts bill presented in the House today, here is a reminder to disabled people to treat yourselves kindly. It is a stressful and upsetting time for us, so save some grace for yourself. Bydd gryf ❤️ #WelfareNotWarfare

The DWP have rescheduled their consultation on the disability cuts in Cardiff. We will still be protesting as the consultation is still incredibly unfair - with the most controversial proposals STILL not up for discussion! #WelfareNotWarfare #TakingThePIP

Millionaires agree too! #taxwealthnotwork

🚨A welcome Government U-Turn on the winter fuel payment, which they have restored to 7.5 million pensioners. These cuts should never have been proposed in the first place - to save another embarrassment, the Government should reverse their disability benefit cut plans now too.

BREAKING: The DWP have cancelled their ONLY in person consultation on the disability cuts, in the whole of Wales. Disabled people are still protesting outside Cardiff Central Station, and we're holding our OWN consultation ✊ Bydd ein lleisiau yn cael eu clywed! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 linktr.ee/swanseaDPAC

Government plans to cut disability benefits could drive more costs on to cash-strapped councils, according to campaigners and local government officials The Disability Policy Centre estimates the cuts would add £1.2bn of costs for the NHS and social care By me: www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Disabled people receiving continuing health care to have same rights to direct payments as those who access social care. “This new law marks a significant milestone in progressing the right to independent living for all disabled people in Wales.” Proud to be there @disabilitywales.bsky.social

MPs to vote on disability benefit cuts without knowing ‘full impact’

#WelfareNotWarefare @thecanaryuk.bsky.social doesn’t get the support it should. So share their articles and look them up on their socials

#WelfareNotWarfare It’s estimated that by 2029-30 that between 1.2 million to 800,000 disabled people will lose between £4200 to £6300 a year from cuts to PIP From 2028-29 getting PIP will determine if you qualify for the health element of UC These cuts are monstrous

#WelfareNotWarfare I’m on CB ESA they merge it with JSA & time limit it I will lose £7K a year. Labour are looking at social insurance it means you save for periods of sickness as the state won’t be there to support you

#WelfareNotWarfare There is littlte chat about contributions benefits ESA & JSA will merge to form unemployment insurance benefit & this time limited & claimants expected to look for work when time limit ends apply for Universal Credit www.mirror.co.uk/money/two-dw...

⚖️ The scales aren’t balanced. The govt is cutting support for disabled people while refusing to tax extreme wealth. After 15 years of austerity, it's time to rebalance our economy—for good. Tax wealth fairly. Invest in people. Protect our future.

Today I took a message to Rachel Reeves at the Treasury: it's time to rebalance the economy. A #WealthTax on multi-millionaires and billionaires would raise £24billion - nearly 5 times as much as the government is trying to save by taking support away from disabled people.

On Wednesday 26th March there will be a National Day of Protest against Disability Benefit Cuts. There will be protest in Swansea too. It will be at 1pm at Castle Square. If you can please support this by attending or spreading the word.
