And this is primarily why as a Kamara owner in Dynasty, I’m a bit nervous. Kamara is always a good RB to have but you always know he’s gonna produce big points when Carr was tossing him the rock

Interesting. I’ll watch it eventually after I make my way thru the rest of the UC stuff first lol

I’ve only ever watch 79 and Origin so far, why does everyone dislike SEED? just curious

If Des Moines gets a team Caitlin Clark better be traded to it or however they do it. Any Iowan knows that’s a million dollar franchise right there

Overall I really liked it, definitely wasn’t my favorite but I like where it ended and interested to see how Sanderson blends it into the rest of the Cosmere. I’ve finally got some more free time so it’s time to crack into Words of Radiance!!

Lightsong is easily my favorite character, but Siri and Vivenna are very compelling and interesting characters as well. Didn’t leave the book with any absolute favorites of the entire Cosmere, but still very enjoyable characters

My favorite aspect of the book was the worldbuilding Idk if it was only me but T’Telir and the idea of Gods ruling this city and all that felt very Greek/roman mythology inspired which I adored. I liked the power system, but it wasn’t my favorite, I’d say it’s below Stormlight and the Metallic Arts

Gonna give Keep on the Borderlands a shot myself

Either way, it’s very good for an authors first published work, and it’s cool to see concepts Sanderson fleshes out in his later books, for that reason alone I still recommend it

There’s like, 30 side characters to keep track of too, all interesting but nothing truly grabbed me besides Raoden and him giving the people of Elantris hope. This book feels like a proto-Mistborn/TWoK as a lot of these ideas Sanderson does better in those books.

Too be honest I still found it an interesting read, but this books pacing is BEYOND insane. It feels like it’s trying to pack a trilogy into one book. I’m sure this is due to publisher/editing issues but I just felt like I was flying through this story and there was no chance to breath

Overall I do love this book, it’s a great conclusion to the trilogy and made me hunger for more Cosmere, just not sure if I love it more than the first 2 books. As a whole I love this trilogy and whole heartedly recommend everyone read it

My biggest gripe is Sazeds storyline. Obviously he was very justified in his feelings through the book, but for some reason I just couldn’t care when his POV came up. It all ties up into the ending that… I’m not sure if I like or not. Need more time to stew on it lol

The greater picture Cosmere stuff with Ruin and Preservation was interesting, still not sure what’s truly going on but I have my theories. LOVED Spooks side story, it felt like I was kind of reading an entirely different book but in a good way

The highlight for me in this book are three characters: Elend, TenSoon and Spooks. Vin of course is great, and her coming into her role is great, but tbh I was far more invested in every other character besides her.

Anyways these are my way too early predictions but I’m interested to see where things go. This doesn’t even account for QBs I could see getting cut like Cousins (not sure how much gas he’s got left but I could see the browns signing him) or Carr (the Saints cap hell is no joke)

3. Justin Fields to the Raiders I could see the Steelers extending Fields if they cut Russ, but if not I think Raiders will jump for a young QB who’s shown he can at least game manage. I imagine if Bowers can make AOC look semi-decent I think the same could work even better for Fields.

2. Darnold to the Titans I could see Vikings extending Darnold, IF he doesn’t drop a goose egg in the playoffs like he did last night. Otherwise I think he’ll want more than what they wanna pay him. I’m not sure the Titans wanna draft another young QB with the no.1 pick

1. Russel Wilson to the Jets Im guessing Rodgers is getting the boot this offseason unless the Jets wanna keep up this circus, and I don’t see the Steelers keeping Russ around if they want another good to mediocre season. I think the jets are gonna be desperate for anything and it might be Russ

I’m not expert by any means, but here’s my prediction for 3 QBs going into free agency this off season:

Overall, my favorite book of the Cosmere (so far) does very little wrong and a lot right. I see people say this is the weakest which is understandable but it hits all my favorite story beats and makes for a fantastic bridge to the final book

I can’t really think of anything truly negative besides a few characters just not doing it for me. In particular Dockson, I liked him enough in the first book, but I just couldn’t be brought to care about him this book. The other crew members I grew to love tho

And finally I loved the final battle and the ending. Some very hype moments but also brutal character deaths that almost had me in tears. The final sense of dread of what happened was something I haven’t felt ever from a book. Plus the ending had a giant twist I didn’t see coming

I also didn’t mind Zane, I’ve seen some hating him cuz he’s “edgy” but I honestly didn’t care too much. I found his story intriguing if not a little short but overall he didn’t overstay his welcome by any means. He served to push Vins character growth and I think he filled that role nicely

Another highlight in this book is Sazed, quite possibly the strongest character behind Vin Imo, and having Tindwyl as a companion to him was fantastic. Learning more about the Terris people was awesome and served some tasty worldbuilding I didnt know I needed

Straff Venture is an A+ villain, I love a good villain that you can just hate, and celebrate when they meet their demise. Too many writers these days try to make villains relatable or complex and inadvertently justify their actions. Sanderson does none of that with Straff thankfully

Vins development in this book is again amazing, I love watching the “Chosen One” character actually struggle with the idea of whether they’re actually the chosen or not. Also love seeing Elends growth into the role of King, and their romance blossom fully

This book is one of my favorites as it touches on one of my favorite types of stories: watching a nation rebuild after a revolution. This book does that well, with a main focus being on the Crew turning from criminals to founding fathers. Loved seeing more the Crew develop

Also please refrain from sharing spoilers for other Cosmere works on these posts, not only for my sake but new readers as well. This is the first series in a while where I truly have not been spoiled for anything (besides minor details) and I would like to keep it that way lol

Besides that personal gripe, I loved this book and served as a great introduction into the rest of the Trilogy and the Cosmere in general. My 3 favorite characters were (in no particular order): Vin, Sazed, and Kelsier (of course) Anyways that’s where I’ll leave that for tonight. Thanks for reading

Overall, my only original complaint was not getting enough of the rest of the Crew, which is addressed by the later 2 books lol. But with some time to think about it, I do think the climax hits a little TOO fast for my taste, it kinda goes balls to the walls pretty fast

The power system alone makes this series worth a read tbh. Sanderson does a great job writing scenes with this system, I could perfectly picture in my head how it looked. The best fight in this book (and perhaps whole trilogy) is hands down Vins first battle with another Mistborn

The world building pulled me in right away. I’m a sucker for Victorian era aesthetics and this series hits all the right notes with that. Didn’t love the Court/political espionage aspect at first but it quickly grew on me, as my favorite character from the entire series is one of the focuses (Sazed)
