Long live the mighty Saturn V, Shuttle and SLS! Musk's Starship is a joke. NASA needs to stick to building the big rockets. Musk and Trump just need to beat each other to death.

Not the full reason, but a big one. Selling our sailboat since we've had a couple scary incidents on Lake Michigan (we've had 4 sailboats). With worse forecasts, not worth it.
Anyone want to buy it? greenbay.craigslist.org/boa/d/sturge...

Can we have 2 balloon launches a day again too?

We had to replace the solar to camera USB cable since this furry thief got up in the bird seed. Chewed through the cable so the battery dies. Cute little guys, but annoying at times!

I've been trying things with Jet. He's lost a lot of weight, vet can't find anything wrong, but he barfs too much. He's down to 8.3 lbs and is about 11 years old. His attitude is fine, he's happy and all, but just losing weight. Really worries us. 🙁

I'd be embarrassed, but I've already given up.

I'm watching his Arlington speech. Started out on script, but he's off again and bashing Biden, border...all the usual stuff. I guess we should be embarrassed, but I've given up. Hand me that barf bag, I have something to fill it with. 😕

Interesting to see the ocean ships visiting. I guess they are called "salties"?

....and why do we worry about laws? If a felon can be president, why do I need to drive 25 mph when I can do 40? Our government is circling the drain, and it's scary.

Don’t go on Facebook and read comments. The MAGAs are in full glory. I’m staying away, I’d probably be put in FB jail pretty quick.

A week? I'm sure he'll say something really hurtful and bad within a few hours. He's probably on the golf course with a full diaper.

Strange! Now that I read more it sure looks like something else.

Somewhere I saw someone trying to sell 3 of those for $85 each. Facebook I think. He had 3 different bands. Looks like fun, I guess you need a really well tuned antenna to get a strong QRP signal out?

One of these days, I'll have a chance to chase one of these down and try to find it. Most of the time the end up in the bay or lake.

We need a list of those that would qualify for the 'danger' and let them fly.

Looks like it's predicted to land fairly close to me - but in the bay.

Now I get this text. Fortunately, the lake tames things way down for tornadoes here.
Last tornado was back in 1998.

It's infuriating that Orange keeps blaming Biden for things like this. He's had the job long enough that he needs to start taking responsibility other than blaming Bide - or even Obama.

This is one of the many, but a good CW learning site. Of course you don't need it anymore for the license.

It is! There are so many things you can do with RF. Just find the favorite way to modulate a signal through an antenna.
Morse is fun once you learn it. Just don't learn visually, but by sound. I needed it back in late 80s when I first got licensed. Still like it!

It's fun and fascinating bouncing signals around the planet. You can start with an SDR USB dongle and listen around on a computer with a simple wire antenna.

Probably! Then when you get the license, it's a ticket to hoarding some really nice radio stuff. 😀

He'll just wait for the 'official' AF1 to be completed. I don't think he would like all the gold trim and use the same golden toilet the orange guy dumped in.

If it takes years to 'harden' the aircraft, install security, comms, electronics....etc and he rushes it. Maybe the half-assed plane would have an "unfortunate incident" while his ass is riding it? I wish I had 2 pencils. 😑

It's sick, but I really hope FL gets hit really hard. A certain place in Florida where some guy lives who thinks he's king.
The NOAA cuts are inexcusable and will just hurt us all.

I've captured a few. Usually I'll get at least one really good one, but wonder if they are using a different antenna/radio? I should check my feedline to my discone standing in the back lawn. Seems the squirrels like to chew on cables! Seen that happen.

PI is stupidly expensive. I just had access to it. I’ve used Siril and StarTools…and probably going back to it. Long story (and political). *sigh*

Here is one that I processed with PixInsight. A guy had one of those scopes at a club night and he shared the 130 images (about 15 seconds each) and I came up with this. Small, but nothing terrible for sure.

I was skeptical of those scopes, but after seeing what people have produced, I'm impressed!

I've been a JPL Solar System Ambassador for probably over 14 years now. Seems that program has made it through a few cuts, but fear for it's future. We know how the administration feels about science education.

Sadly, I'm pretty sure also that it will eventually go. They will put all their 'eggs' into Musk's stupid Starship, tweak the FAA so he can blow it up more, and just continue to clutter up the night sky with Starlink.

Science is being destroyed/dumbed down. I used to follow NASA very closely, but after Musk basically took over KSC, I just can't get excited about it anymore. It's spendy, but I'll still be cheering on the SLS when it does fly.
I'm so damn tired of reading what he's doing next. 😞
