The sooner we can change from the current fee-for-service healthcare cost model and adopt a value-based care payment model, the better off we all will be. My $0.02.

I’m 5 episodes in on Severance and I’m enjoying the show. But, I gotta say, this show is weird! 😂 Also, can’t wait to find out what’s really going on at Lumon!!

Great thread, Mark! What are your thoughts on transitioning from a fee-for-service (FFS) healthcare model to a value-based-care model (VBC)? Do you think the 50million self insured employers could be a pilot for such a transition? I'm pursuing 2nd Master in Healthcare Analytics & very interested

That authorization process is one we should not be asking ins comps to do. That role should be performed by INDEPENDENT TPAs. With zero economic incentive to approve or deny.
The first step is for self insured entities to use 3rd party TPAs and move away from insurance companies for this service

Fox News is a great story teller. They aren't reporters. Their stories always have an antagonist and protagonist. Always a high level of drama. And sometimes joyful interstitials with a hero saving the day
Maddow is a good story teller. But beyond her, it's the domain of fox on linear TV
