They have to vote in order for “not wanting it” to mean anything. And they may have to compromise in their voting, as elections are a zero sum game.

I think a lot of philosophers take “x exists” as having hypostatic implications. And when the thing in question is something like a number or a municipality, they start wondering if it’s “real” and dive down the hole of weird metaphysics.
