For such a relatively small addition, the timber shutters make such a big difference to the welcoming feel of this building. Wish all architects of social housing would take note of how little it takes to lift the profile of a building.

And they're not welcoming you to your own country. My understanding is that 'country' is the piece of land you're currently standing on. They're not asking for anything but an understanding that that particular group lived on & loved that land for 1000s of years & they want to share that love.

Some, especially in a big generation like ours, fell victim to money, position or power. Sadly, it happens more than you think. We all live in bubbles and everyone I know from work, university or friends are still holding the candle high. We'll be here, thousands of us, 'when the revolution comes.'
