Although I did have an idea while out today. Have you heard of the Gavin and Stacey? Well, in a few weeks time I might be riding the longest ride I've done in a very long time.

I'm in Kent next weekend, I got another audax. Fairies summer dream. Completely new territory for me. It'll be the first time I've done any ride in the garden of England aside from setting off on Chase the Sun twice.

Oversleeping was down to my fam not letting me get home to bed early. I was up at 4am and after their dithering I got home at midnight. Someone had the great idea we all go to the pub ๐ท๐ซฃ๐ซฉ

Bloody overslept this morning as I was awake for 20 hours yesterday, not by choice either and doubt today as it's nearly midday I'll have time to pull anything out the bag now #cycling

I fancied an ice lolly, but they didn't have any left.

It wasn't all sunshine and smiles early on, I got caught out by a couple of heavy showers ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ดโโ๏ธ #cycling #bskycycling

It was just a passing shower and It's warming up now, so I'm thinking of retreating back home.

I'd been up 4 & half hours by then. Not entirely out of choice, as much as I was interested to see the sunrise. I decent sunrise is always welcome, but my bedroom was like an oven last night, so a lie-in was not an option ๐ฅต

It's all a myth you know, it won't make you go faster on the bike ๐คฃ

Last time I did anything daft on the longest Saturday of the year I rode this route. I don't have the time this weekend so I was planning something easier.

I did think in the week about riding overnight, going Weston-super-Mare (sunset) down to Weymouth (sunrise), which would have worked. Shorter at 100km and warm but not crazy hot. That didn't work out either ๐

Have a great ride chief ๐

I had the idea to ride Weston-super-Mare to Weymouth overnight tonight to beat the heat, but unsure if I can get to Weston in time this evening to do it. But have a longer but easier alternative to ride tomorrow.Dawlish up to Weston, it's 100 miles instead of 100km.

It's the longest day tomorrow and Chase the Sun falls on the same day, the 200 miler from Minster, Kent to Weston, Somerset. Done it back in 2018 and always try to do something similar since. Done home to Weymouth, Weston and back before on a 300km loop but aiming smaller this time.

I've changed tack this weekend. Instead of doing a C2C tomorrow, I'm doing a shorter C2C tonight and depending on how hot it gets tomorrow, I might cycle all the way back.

Oh, which 600 is this? I've toyed with the idea of doing the Exe Buzzard, but year in year out, I haven't plucked the courage to do it. Not yet anyway.

There's an alarmingly high spike in the middle there, with lots of smaller lumps. Well done in getting thst one accomplished ๐

I'm doing the dutiful thing tomorrow. It's Father's Day, and it's time I paid a visit.
Could be an emotional day tomorrow.

I had one similar, had a mini hose on it to give you more flex. Had the same thing happened twice and binned it. I carry one of those topeak pocket Rockets now which is much better. I'm thinking about getting one of those mini inflators now as well.

I tightened it with a pair of pliers and forcibly refitting the tyre dug a bloody hole in it bigger than the one the iceberg put in the titanic ๐

So much for a morning ride. Solved the deflating mystery and then pinched the tube putting back in. This only happens with the new back tyre as it's a pig to fit, the front tyre and the old tyre are and were easy but they're the same model and brand? ๐ค
