The Kaiser Family Foundation estimates up to 253,000 Minnesotans could lose coverage

Midtown Partner’s Farm to Community initiative has served nearly 400 underserved elementary and middle school students and more than 2,000 Jackson residents since its start, distributing hundreds of pounds of vegetables. Now, the program is under threat from Trump’s funding cuts.

Less than half of American private sector businesses - specifically, 48% - offer health insurance to their employees, according to a 2022 survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation. Facts are neat, Rick. Try 'em out.

Shameful.

If they want people who need assistance to have a work requirement, shouldn’t those at the top who get a tax break have a community service requirement?

Ad Hoc Line Item Originalism is the new Federalism I guess?

Murray to FDA Commissioner Makary: "I believe this administration is laying the groundwork to rip away access to medication abortion across the country. This has not gotten enough attention and I know you'd prefer to keep it that way."

The law couldn’t be clearer. I gave him weeks to review the language. I read it out loud to him for good measure. He still refused to say the simple truth: it is illegal for the president to weaponize the IRS against his political enemies.

I Do NOT APPROVE

I'm generally the hopeful person but this week, increasingly, I'm feeling America might be cooked for a long time. Maybe the feeling will pass but...yeah not looking good.

The irony and hypocrisy is astounding 👇 #ResistTrump

The Trumper obsession with Harvard is a cringe-inducing drama around status envy.

Watching the US government anoint itself the global protector of white people is really something to behold.

The Trump administration will do anything to rid this country of the slightest hint of anti-Semitism, unless anti-Semites have a million dollars available to bribe the president, of course.

🔥 @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social : “I don’t work for you, sir.”

one of the most insane normalized aspects of our political climate is politicians going after their own constituents in the name of anti-wokeness. what are we doing here

Right now, Republicans in Congress are trying to push through a bill that would put millions of Americans at risk of losing their health care. They want to cut federal funding for Medicaid, take away tax credits that help more people afford coverage, and raise costs for working class families.

The top holder of $TRUMP coin faced SEC charges for market manipulation, and was avoiding coming to the US for fear of arrest. Now his lawsuit is paused and he’s invited to a VIP dinner with Trump. This guy is bribing the President in plain sight. www.wsj.com/finance/curr...

A 2022 study found that ¼ of unicorn companies in the US had a founder that first came to the US as an international student. Deterring world-class talent from coming to the US and building things here is a great way to kill America’s economic edge. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/22/u...

Wannabe dictator acting like a dictator.

Jeffries: We will stand up today, stand up tomorrow, stand up this week, stand up next week, stand up this month, stand up next month, stand up this year, stand up next year, stand up at all times until we end this national nightmare and restore the American dream for every single person

🤷🏼‍♂️

That was fast. @nbcnews.com www.nbcnews.com/politics/imm...

Boyle: We just verified with the congressional budget office and of 13.7 million Americans who will lose their health care because of their bill, exactly zero are undocumented immigrants

I voted NO on their “big, beautiful” bill because it will strip health care from 14 million Americans—including nearly 130,000 people in my district who rely on Medicaid.

i think it should be a bigger story that the president held a meeting with a foreign head of state where he ranted about the most gutter white supremacist propaganda you can find on the internet

So you’re telling us the radical transparency people are against… transparency? www.politico.com/news/2025/05...

What is one country also investing heavily in agricultural research? It's China. That's why this Administration's $600M cut to ag research makes no sense. We cannot go backward on investing in the future of agriculture. It impacts our farmers and our national security.

If the president wants to fly around in a vulnerable and security compromised g(r)fit plane who are we to stop him.

When it comes to the latest economic research on assistance to the poor, says @kedseconomist.com, Congress is like a toddler with their hands over their ears

My #SistersInLaw Barb McQuade’s book ATTACK FROM WITHIN: HOW DISINFORMATION IS SABOTAGING AMERICA, is coming out in paperback. Please join her and former AG Loretta Lynch in conversation at @NYU June 3 at 7 PM. Thanks to our host, @RGoodlaw. Details available here.

BIG DRONE ATTACK ON MOSCOW Airports have shut and targets hit all around Moscow Actual specific targets have not yet been named as it’s still night in Russia. Jeffries: There are three big issues with the bill 1. It represents the largest cut to healthcare in American history. 2. It represents the largest cut to nutritional assistance in American history. 3. All of this is being done to enact the largest tax break for billionaires in American history.

Oh. Tanning bed companies are getting a tax break while people with skin cancer are getting kicked off Medicaid? None of this is making America great.

JUST IN: A federal judge has ordered the reinstatement of an education grant supporting long-running desegregation efforts in southern schools. The Trump administration canceled funds for the program under its anti-DEI policy. ecf.dcd.uscourts.gov/cgi-bin/show...

Together, we've delivered a responsible, balanced budget that meets the moment. We’ve turned a $3 billion 𝐢𝐧𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐥𝐮𝐬, while still preserving 8% in the Rainy Day Fund – above recommended levels.

Among the many cool things I learned on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast with Mike Schur is how much of the early conception of Parks And Rec was based on his interest in The Wire

LISTEN as GOP Sen. Johnson admits the GOP tax scam will increase the deficit by $4 trillion with the Big Beautiful Bill, and that Medicaid will be cut: "Now what are you going to cut? Medicaid, absolutely" #StopTheBillionaireBailout

GOOD NEWS: After pressure from CLC and our partners, the only independent office that investigates misconduct and corruption in Congress is back up and running. This is a win for ethics and accountability.

Ansari: I sit on the Natural Resources Committee, where we witnessed the most anti-environment legislation go through. It includes massive giveaways to the oil and gas industry. I discovered that the chairman had purchased hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of oil and gas stocks.

Some of the CDC's main channels for communicating urgent health information to the public have gone silent.

“Legislators shouldn’t stay in office into their 70s given the demands of the job and its high stakes” is actually a completely different sentiment than “people in their 70s are thoroughly useless and should be set adrift on ice floes”

Fairy puff! Postcard from my collection, mailed 1912.

The CBO Finds Don’s Big Beautiful Bill Cuts $500 Billion from Medicare As such, the bill most likely cannot pass in the Senate But GOP House members will be on record voting for the most severe cut to Medicare in US history…for a bill that probably has no future—like the GOP Reps who vote for it
