You didn’t compete against them. You just like to make yourself feel superior- but why?
If you were a trans women your ‘advantages’ would disappear.
No one ‘becomes’ trans to become better at sports.
Or to get into change rooms.
You thinking this way just shows how you feel about women.
comment in response to

No one is arguing against having different leagues based on gender/level/age etc.
But anti-trans activists affect women’s sports in many negative ways.
Like in this example where bigots are trying to detract from the win of a girl’s TEAM.
Let trans people compete and it doesn’t affect your life

What IS controlled with competitive trans athletes are the ‘advantages’ that hormones may have.
They don’t tend to do better just because they are trans.
And trans male athletes are never mentioned- as it all boils down to misogyny.
Men dictating to women. Obsessed with ‘women’s spaces’

It seems to imply that this is important to you.
No one said it doesn’t play a role, just like other physiological differences play a role. You say talent - it natural ability that put you ahead of your peers- that you had no control over.

(I suppose someone who peaked at high school)
comment in response to

Who cares about your high school accomplishments. You seriously felt the need to see if you were faster than women?
What kind of person feels the need to make those comparisons?
comment in response to
post
What? That’s what YOU posted- an anti-trans website.
There are real differences not just based on sex.
And a trans person competing in an Olympic sport is subject to rules based on their sport. They aren’t just a talented high school athlete.
This always becomes anti-women.
comment in response to

You googled to find an anti-trans website, or just proving they are the only ones interested in making such comparisons.
Because why else would such a site exist- to make young men feel superior to women?
Gaines is an a-hole bigot who tried to take away from the accomplishments of a girl’s TEAM

Women outperform men in endurance swimming so you can’t generalize.
But these kind of comparisons ignore that trans women are not men.
No one ‘becomes’ trans to compete in sport. They just don’t want to give up sport because of who they are. And transitioning affects ‘advantages’

My assumption is that he was laboratory tested so it would have been reported, not sure the relevance of the 811 call. Hope everyone is ok and people start to realize they are a danger to small babies if they aren’t vaccinated! So preventable!
comment in response to

Why do you think they didn’t report it? It’s the law and he was at the hospital and diagnosed so it would be automatic, presumably

And I was also a small business owner NOT exempt from protecting employees. This is one of these things the UCP has gotten away with- stripping protections from workers and you feel people will blame the NDP for trying to protect them.

And no- that didn’t happen. I grew up on a farm and it would not have been at all affected. There was no ‘benefit’ to be taken away.
The rich corporate farmer down the road-yes. I certainly don’t agree with workers not being protected.
comment in response to

So- the NDP has also talked about getting rid of the AER.
The NDP supported workers including raising the minimum wage and now it’s stagnant. Protecting workers is a good thing. The only ones complaining were corporations.
I don’t think money was diverted.
comment in response to

That didn’t happen. (Though that may be the perception for some) And as a rural Albertan, I’d say it doesn’t matter anyway as our votes aren’t important for the NDP to form government.
You’d think rural Albertans would be more concerned about cost of living and health care access…

Not following you. Edmonton Strathcona doesn’t have an MLA.
But lucky you. My MLA is one of the worst. And no, I don’t get ‘mailers’ - they don’t even bother to campaign. Anyone with concerns is a troll.

Give me an example where your point makes sense then.
You chose to engage with my comment and if you are correct and all Nenshi needs to do is get a megaphone and yell corruption all day long- well, easy peasy, I wish that were true.

Do you live in a riding that can be flipped? I don’t, but we are still involved in our rural constituency association.
At least I know we try and don’t look for others to blame…..

I don’t believe we need some saviour and we all sit back to blame.
Sorry- I don’t get you at all.

It’s called ‘Corruptcare’ because of the NDP.
He certainly talks about it. ‘The rest of us’ need to talk to our neighbours and such as there are just certain Albertans that tune out the NDP- especially if they go ‘on and on’ about things.
comment in response to

You claimed ‘we all know’ - I disagree, and don’t feel that hearing about it more from Nenshi will change things for those who don’t now notice, or care.
I guess you haven’t convinced me that the problem is Nenshi not constantly harping on one issue
comment in response to

How does he do that, and why would that make people care more?
He was kept out of legislature but the NDP AND the ousted UCP MLAs brought up the corruption.
This premier was elected having broken ethics laws.
comment in response to

Can’t make people care- but no, we all don’t know.
comment in response to

We do have a premier who is the second most unpopular in their province after Quebec so that’s quite the honeymoon.
Nenshi has suffered because she kept him out of legislature.
Why is no one noticing how corrupt Smith is? She’s getting a pass.

I don’t think Japanese people who are pressured to overwork, fall asleep on trains are healthier than French people who have shorter work weeks, more time away from work…
Sleep is important. Japanese people may make up for sleep deprivation with their healthier diets.

Climate change means the fire season is longer and fires are hotter/harder to control.
Air quality is fine where I live but that can change, but I’m not directly affected and hope those displaced from their homes can return soon.
I hear many got F’d around by insurance in the Cali wildfires

I don’t know what all these posts are on about.
Canadians don’t need a visa to go to the U.S.
You’re quite capable of destroying your own country. I’m not sure the reputation of the U.S. will ever recover, and it was never great.

You complained about air quality but pollution caused by ICE vehicles is a major source.
We carpool. That’s why I had time to waste on this. Waiting for my family to take the commuter bus back.

The solution to climate change isn’t for everyone to just get an electric car instead. Teslas themselves are unaffordable for most ‘lefties’
We also have too many cars in North America.
In countries that have more EV’s, they aren’t relying completely on fossil fuels to produce them.

Why don’t you start by standing up to the dictator you elected,
You can’t actually work ‘together’ when one of the parties is willing to break the law to get what they want.
Not sure why you aren’t recognizing that what is happening in your country is not normal for a functioning democracy.

You haven’t been protecting your first amendment.
You are banning books and Trump has been going after peaceful protesters.

Seriously?
It’s sped things up. The oil companies themselves have the studies that prove this (and they’ve known this for decades)
We can do something about this, just like with the ozone layer.
