I sometimes find audiobook is a great format for apparently impenetrable works. The narrator ploughs on regardless and I let it wash over me without seeking a detailed understanding.

We had IBMs at school, but I would do a class in BASIC, then come home and repeat the class to Mum on the BBC. It helped me learn faster and created some quality time.
