Nobody can convince me that it wasn’t a N**I salute. Disgraceful.

I’m thinking about combining the 15 years of Personal Training and my love of D&D into some D&D themed workouts… Who’s in?

It’s Tolkien’s birthday today. At 9pm I will be joining many Tolkien fans with a toast to “The Professor”. A little anecdote. I remember being about 7 years old and I used to sit opposite the storeroom cupboard. On it, was a passage from The Hobbit where Bilbo meets Smaug (…)

Happy New Year! I did not expect to see my follower count over 400! Hi to all my new followers! Here’s a New Years Cat from our celebrations last night.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Last working day of 2024 done. Phew! Hopefully I can get some writing done over the festive period!

Spoiler Free Review: Galaxy in Flames by Ben Counter. Well… that was a fast read! After the slight disappointment at the end of book 2, I was concerned that Galaxy in Flames was going to fall to the same issues. However, Galaxy in Flames sticks the landing.

Spoiler Free Review: False Gods by Graham McNeill Book 2 of the Horus Heresy is a confident and exciting sequel to Horus Rising. Whilst the characters feel very similar to book one, there are some notable style changes in the prose, as is natural when we change author.

Campbell’s witty response to this homophobe makes me want to enjoy some of their delicious chicken noodle soup right now! 🍜 🏳️‍🌈

Horus Rising - Dan Spoiler-Free review. Horus Rising is a competent and gentle introduction into the 40k universe. The book introduces a host of intriguing characters. Many characters seem 1-dimensional to begin with but quickly open up with distinct personalities. (…)

I’m shotgunning books at the minute to satiate my current obsession with #Warhammer40k lore whilst also working through #WindandTruth. Man, oh man, this was a great read! In sure I’ll follow this up with more thoughts when i have time!

My new blog is up on Fitshop for anyone interested in my corporate, non-fiction, career writing job: www.fitshop.co.uk/blog/get-a-h...

Back to work after a week off. New blog coming up for any fitness enthusiasts 😁

Here. We. Go. #stormlight #brandonsanderson #cosmere #windandtruth

Well. I finished The Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb. Whilst I loved her prose I will not be returning to the Farseer Trilogy. It’s always a shame when a book people rave about doesn’t capture you the same way. But it just wasn’t for me.

The Shadow over Innsmouth, continued. #illustration #horror

I’m actually getting time to write today! It only took me nearly a week of getting life in order to sit down and do it. But I’m here. I’m 30,000 words in to my Fantasy novel Hellheart and it’s shaping up nicely. I’m taking the time today to firm up the plot and structure and having fun doing it!

Lots of life stuff happening this week! Glad to be chilling out with the extended polycule tonight to grab £3 wings and karaoke in our Tuesday special we do every couple of months that we have dubbed Wings & Sings 🤣 Seriously though £3 for 10 wings at the NYC Bar and Grill on a Tuesday in Glasgow!

Somebody needs to tell IMDB that I acshuuuullly use their "Watchlist" feature to track the movies I've already seen... So, the daily spam of them telling me that movies are leaving a streaming service is not helpful... I fully accept this is a me problem 🤣

Hey! I got to 300 followers! Hi friends! I know it's a tiny following compared to most, but I've been absent from social media for many many years now, so this is a nice surprise! Stay tuned for more literature talk! I'm probably going to post some writing up too eventually!
