Just watching the video I took from the finish at the Womens Tour of Britain. Just noticed that in front of me was a girl holding a Lorena Wiebes sign in front of me. I think that finish made her day judging by her reaction.

Accurate.

I'll say it now. Whatever the motive was behind the Liverpool attack*, that monster** driving won't get a life driving ban. * It wasn't a collision, it wasn't an incident. It was a deliberate attack. ** Regardless of motive, deliberately driving into a crowd at speed makes you a monster.

On June 3rd, 2016, Michael Gove told Sky news that Brexit was: An opportunity "to take back control from unelected, unaccountable elites...." and to "fire them." That's Lord Gove to you plebs...

BBC have interviewed this woman as a business spokesperson, she rants about Brexit aspirations being stolen, they forgot to mention she is a Reform spokesperson and was a Brexit party MEP

Recommendations include an immediate nationwide ban on pavement parking, default 20mph speed limits for motor vehicles in all urban areas, enshrining mandatory cycle training into the national curriculum and spending at least 10% of transport funding on cycling and walking.

The man on the left is Colin Kaepernick, the man on the right needs no introduction. They both have one thing in common, they sacrificed their careers to call out injustices suffered by marginalised people. In a world full of hatred, be more like Colin and Gary.

Class and dignity in everything.

Any minute now, it'll start trickling down the leg of the nation's white chinos...

More performance from Labour. People that keep our public realm in good shape are skilled and yet this is framed as punishment work. You can also bet that there is plenty of exploitation to be had here at the risk of people's actual jobs. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

It’s *that* time of the year to repeat the message that once caused my face to be the centre of a window display of fans in the Chichester branch of Rymans.

Like many of you I'm determined to be less confrontational here on Bluesky than I was on Twitter, but I struggle to sit on my hands when people equate naughty rule-breaking riders (who almost but didn't hit them) to the carnage and negligence caused by drivers. It's just both-sides bullshit.

Why do so many Americans not have empathy for anyone? Do they think this makes them look cool? It makes them look weak.

Labour has a whopping great majority and four years left to turn this country around. They should be setting the agenda, not chasing about trying to placate voters of a party with five MPs who will never vote for them anyway. It's not only disappointing... it's embarrassing

UK media coverage of Reform winning a non zero amount of seats is predictable.

A front page every bit as batshit as the ‘glory days’ of Brexit. Almost makes you nostalgic.

RIP I wonder how much time Andrew will spend reflecting about this poor, traumatised person who he claimed never to have met, other than in photos.

Call him out for his behaviour, he's an awful human being by any sensible person's standards. But his appearance? That just places you in the same gutter as him.

Japan: The ideal café for writing a letter to your local paper.

Calling ASD a “disease” is stigmatizing and without basis. Tracking people with ASD in a database is fascistic and terrifying.

If you know, you know

Autism isn’t an epidemic. It's not a disease. It’s a natural variation in how people think…which, frankly, is a relief in a world where most people don't think at all.

Why are children not playing in the street? An FT piece analysing the - very concerning - decline in outdoor play manages to look at every possible cause: screens, spaces, school timetable changes. Apart from one. Cars. It is simply not safe for kids to play outside on streets.

"You need an accountant mate. Saved me more in tax than he costs me". "My mum's been waiting six weeks to see a consultant". "State of the fuckin' roads though. Criminal". Same guy.

Today is 'bicycle helmet day' in the Netherlands. Also known as the day when we prefer not to talk about what REALLY makes cycling safer... HT @davewalker.bsky.social

Along with @severincarrell.bsky.social we’ve looked at the political lessons from today’s supreme court ruling, and why some politicians will quietly welcome it - mainly as it saves them taking responsibility for a decision. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/a...

Transphobia is no more "acceptable" than any other form of bigotry, and I continue to be absolutely astounded, shocked, and revolted that otherwise "liberal" people think otherwise. What do they want transgender people to do? Hide away? Pretend they don't exist?

My husband has taught human reproduction and development to the Cambridge medics for over three decades. When people start banging on about "only two biological sexes" he starts with "which sex: genetic, hormonal, or gonadal"? Biological sex is not binary. www.scientificamerican.com/article/sex-...

Fundamentally the issue is clear: if I leave my home and choose the most polluting and antisocial form of transport my local authority makes this easy; if I try to be responsible, pro-social and healthy, my local authority makes this hard

Breaking news: The European Commission is issuing burner phones and basic laptops to some US-bound staff to avoid the risk of espionage — a measure traditionally reserved for trips to China www.ft.com/content/20d0...

It's 2025 and it seems that body shaming is still on the agenda with print media.

Aah, it's that time of year when the morning commute involves numb fingers and toes, and the ride home is a sweatfest.

If you're surprised at how spiteful, hateful, illogical, self-centred aggressive, and ignorant people can be then it's clear you've never cycled in the urban environment. Cyclists have always known.

The White House. The actual White House. This is the attitude of every abuser, who is now fearful of the consequences of their abuse.

Four drivers in one short stretch this morning. Driver 1, 2 and 3 all overtook with no issue. Driver 4 will be getting reported to the police. This was a very fast and close overtake. 😠 There is further information in the driver 4 alt text.

"If brains were dynamite, that boy wouldn't have enough to part his hair." Always loved that one. #Southern

I can help the government predict who's likely to kill, but they won't like the answer www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

I defy anyone to look at this and still say integration isn't working in the UK.

Do it.

Put up by Katy Brand today - this is the story over and over again

There's simply no reason for an unelected, unaccountable King to have any role in Scotland’s education system. It adds a completely unnecessary step to the process. Other parties must stop fawning over wealth and privilege and help us to make our education system that bit more efficient.

Tell me again why we’re letting a 78 year old, legit smelly, odorous, frail, loser old man who bankrupted a CASINO bankrupt the country? Congress? Any answers?

Calling @bbcbreaking-bot.bsky.social @paulhutcheon.bsky.social and all other news desks. Are you going to report thus?

Fails to mention that fuel duty has remained frozen for 15 consecutive years. Driving has always been heavily subsidised for the benefit of drivers; just a fiver is added incentive to drive.
