@precrecs.bsky.social do a great line in re-issues of Peel sessions. Mostly 10" EPs but this LP is one of the most hotly anticipated - all 4 sessions by bIG*fLAME. As it says in the sleeve notes, a difficult but beautiful mess. Also sent me a bonus Boyracer session so thanks for that.

Free exhibition of New York graffiti, on until the end of the month near Birmingham Bullring. The "wall of trains" is overwhelming, I would need the rest of the week to look at all of them properly.

New one from #Swans is my album of the year so far but I feel like a complete numbskull as I've had it a week and only just realised there's a DVD with it. It was hidden in the back of the cardboard sleeve, not in a tray like the other two discs. 😁

Annual health check this week, blood pressure etc all normal so I don't need any extra pills on top of what I already take and my new @nightingalesuk.bsky.social pill box is just the right size. (I don't normally keep a 'Gales album next to my bed, that's just for illustration)

Amazing set from Swell Maps C21 last night. Only Jowe Head from the original line-up, always a pleasure to see @davidlancecallahan.bsky.social who brings some of the anger of his other band Wolfhounds. Would be great to see Luke Haines with them, he's at the Hare later this year with Peter Buck.

If you're a cruciverbalist, why not have a stab at Stereolab's crossword? Took me about 45 minutes to complete, difficulty level is similar to a Guardian Saturday cryptic. Knowledge of Stereolab's work is useful but not essential. Answers revealed next week.

Book club: The Postman Always Rings Twice. Discussion about the book, the two films and theories on the origin of the title. I thought the book was better than the Jack Nicholson film but not as good as the Lana Turner film.

Nice bit of garage rock with 60s girl group vocals from the Courettes. Already had 2 albums from last time they played, merch lady recommended this picture disc to try next. Note to performers: if you're gonna crowdsurf, don't be surprised if your setlist is missing when you get back to the stage 😆
