Hey, i am mostly a lurker but i do want to point out the person in the video is a staunch kamala supporter and a democrat. If you scroll on their page you can see it too. I know why you made the judgement, but please verify these things before you post them. Thank you.

What laptop does your girlfriend have? Out of curiosity. Also, check the task manager when ff14 is running, you may find something there

From the main page, scroll down to where it says "college education" and it takes you to the education website

Is it trying to run on the integrated graphics rather than the discrete one? My laptop has that problem sometimes where it doesn't switch or it defaults to the integrated graphics for no good reason.

That easily saves you 100 bucks if you wanted those features. An m4 mac mini would get brought down to $499.

Are you able to trade in your device? Also, you can get an education discount on the apple website without proof of being a college student.

I was thinking it wasnt loading from the GPU and thats why it was having issues.

I figured it out, turns out windows scaling was the issue. On my 2023 zephyrus g14 i had scaling set to 150%, and i randomly changed it to 125% and it started working again like normal. Ill leep testing on my external monitor to see what works

How much do you plan on spending? I would also factor in any extra warranty if you use it for school/work and lug it around

Upgrading a laptop from 5 years ago to a modern one is something else too. I tried running the same modern game on both and it was literal night and day difference!

I posted my response, but gaming laptops, specifically AMD cpu variants have come a long way in terms of battery life. Check out the zephyrus g14 2023/2024

Gaming laptops have come a long way in terms of battery life, though. I recently got a 2023 ASUS Zephyrus G14 that has 10+ hour battery life that lets me do schoolwork without needing to reach for a charger. Granted, I had to tweak it to get it like that but it was worth every penny.
