By the time Gaiman got outed it no longer hurt to realize a creative hero was dogshit, bc it turns out basically every single male writer I looked up to was a sex pest at best! Even if I wanted to give them $, I can't go back to their work without my disgust/disappointment overshadowing everything.

This happens to me with pretty much any new item I buy from ebay (pay more to avoid amazon, receive item w/amazon gift receipt, stew in anger abt being overcharged so someone else can click the buy button at the bad place), so I've gone to buying used items only. It's so frustrating!

Same, but that's because they're all the same to me - marry, hairy, dairy, ferry, sherry, scary etc etc š
if the internet hadn't prepared me for the world outside of Montana, I'd think I was being trolled.

It's neat to remember that there are so many microregional accents, esp. since it doesn't feel like there's much variation here unless you're on the rez. Mary/merry/marry is all the same (like fairy) to me, the only people I can think of who say married like this are my deep Ozark stepfamily!

As someone who's lived their entire life in the intermountain west, I've been saying marry and Mary to myself for the last 5 minutes, trying to figure out what the difference is supposed to be š«

Tekken tag/4 era was my golden era, my dorky friend circle used to get together and have weekend long tournaments all the time and the only disk horse was whether or not Eddie should be banned, lol
Knowing how fandoms tend to be in general, I'm glad to be completely removed from it.

I enjoy listening to people try to figure out the pronunciation more than I think I would enjoy eating them. š«
But also it does look like something that belongs with *our* regional food ... the noble rocky mountain oyster.

Twenty years ago I wrote ārecalcitrantā in an email when I really meant āobdurateā and it still haunts me.
