I love Kenny Branagh’s mid-90’s egomaniacal narcissist phase. Why not run around shirtless in your Frankenstein movie? Yes, your Hamlet absolutely needs big old sculpted pecs on your armor for the strictly necessary fencing scenes.

That just reminded me he was in a miniseries in the 90's that was obviously inspired by Quatermass: Invasion:Earth.

Did you ever see what Albany looked like before the 20th century?

Still haven’t watched Saul! But Andor and Americans both pulled off the emotional and storytelling consequences all coming together.
Speaking of, Kleya and Elizabeth Jennings would get along well.

Took it off the tiny fitness section on a bottom shelf at Bank Square Books in Mystic Ct, and moved it to the new books table.

This may be a cultural and generational difference, but isn’t Star Wars a little too advanced for 6 year olds? I know I thought it was pretty scary when I first saw it around 11.
It just seems to me American kids get shown these things a lot earlier.

I also realised his work looked so familiar was because my mum had a fashion history book he illustrated, when I was a kid.

Just this week I places a bunch of interlibrary loans for his stuff. His linework was sublime.

The only time I went to Brussels was once in winter, to see the Körperwelt exhibition with a friend who promptly got a panic attack and we left the next day.
I still think it’s an appropriate reaction to that city.

Similarly Toulouse Lautrec was really good at knowing what parts to leave rough, so he could guide your eye to what he wanted you to see.

People like Rogan want the simplicity of a great man-theory. One man who builds a thing, teamwork, consensus, small steps, that stuff is weak and effeminate.

This started out as Grima, then Theoden got added, and then it just became an excuse to draw a tapestry, really.
But it's Grima Wormtongue, as requested by @upongoblinhill.bsky.social

I say this with the caveat of being an illustrator of books for little kids, but free yourself from the need to make your art easily relatable or digestible.

Anyway, if you want to know why all generated videos and photos look so uncannily saccharine and grating, this helps.

I grew up in the part of the Netherlands that’s riddled with bogs, megalithic graves, and pine woods. There were things lurking everywhere.
