I've only recently given thought to the algos that feed information to users. It's truly frightening when you realize that algos feed data that reinforce everything wrong and awful. The algos do it for clicks. It doesn't matter what effect those views have on society.

Dude, I don't know if you noticed, but in MY own life I have done just that. I have not logged onto FB or Instagram for about 4 months and I only recently discovered that I don't miss it.
I log onto Twitter and it is a cesspool. It's awful, the hate, misogony, anti gay...it's all so bad.
