Whether it's superstition (likely) or an attempt to game the system, it's a means to find the "best" thumbnail (and/or title) that gains the most clicks, without considering other options. I assume some do it to fool people into clicking the same video more than once, but that's the cynic in me.

She wakes up, they all dead (rip in piss lol) and she STILL blames herself and wants to die, and it takes the last barely alive family member and a talking motorcycle telling her "Sis, take the fuckin' W!" before she finally leaves.
Kino shows up after all of this and goes "Welp they all dead ig".

Then after a brat kid accidently saves her from her "oh no I didn't warn the shitty people" stew-icide attempt by throwing a rock at her, and asking if he can kill her for the funsies she STILL tries to warn them with another rock to the face as a reward.

This entire episode is Kino-less as we watch a girl sold as a slave for the world's most cartoonishly evil family and refuses to do anything to preserve herself, to the point she tries to save them from eating poisonous cilantro (which is an herb known by its more common name, "cilantro")

I know I'm not the best at getting subtle messages, but I was pretty sure I knew what most of the original episodes were trying to say.
These 2017 episodes are starting to feel more like twists for the sake of twists.

How is this getting worse? The last episode was just: Guy says he's waiting for someone who left, the town tells Kino that that person never left but actually died, the girl he lives with admits she WAS that girl, but was a spy, the guy admits he knows all of this but lets everyone think he doesn't.

Kino doesn't do anything interesting in these episodes, she just gets endlessly talked at or does something that ends up with her getting endlessly talked at.
I think the creative team heard that Kino always goes on an expedition, and accidentally heard "exposition".

WHY DO THEY KEEP BRINGING SHIZU BACK?! Why did we get a whole ep with him?
Why are all these resolutions either blatantly obvious, or such baffling shit that gets overexplained by someone exposition dumping nonsense details that were never hinted in the episode.
"Tell don't show" is their mantra.

Both series do a version of Colosseum and Land of Adults, but they basically speed-run Colosseum, and Land of Adults spends WAAAY too long on the singing scene which makes things really awkward and annoying.

I am instantly reminded of a video you did a long while back about going to a certain restaurant with friends to try a really spicy burger challenge, and you were the only one at the table barely reacting to it.

I was running into too many personal issues to want to keep them public, among other people commenting angrily on ancient out of date videos as if I posted them last week, so they are all unlisted now.
But mmogrinder.net is still active, and each one should be linked there.

When Tom Holland's Spider-Man in one of those MCU movies said "There's this really old movie called Back to the Future..." it was my reluctant acceptance.

Playing "we have Blade and Soul at home" was not quite the same nightmare as grindy WoW-tier tab-target combat and bog standard questing spaced between 715 grind walls.

I would not dare to argue your Bottom Left choice. You mean the same community that shames people for using weapons and mechanics that exist in the game normally? Say it's not so!

Most bad games are jank but not all jank games are bad.

Tera was another contender but I'm pretty sure people in Tera couldn't gank you in any area, steal the ship you spent 5 days building and then sink it, and dismiss that ganker/thief when put on trial because he said you were mining his copper node.

It's one of those games that's been around so long, its players have become mindless zombies who play the content to finish it, not experience it. Good luck doing anything older than the current xpac without immediately getting shouted down for not knowing the fight mechanics.

It was such a fundamental misunderstanding of the game's setting and likely purposeful attempt to disparage the game since I criticized his favorite MMO and TSW was my favorite MMO. I was always incredibly able to attract the most unhinged people with that show.

I believe the exact statistic of being "Yakuza by blood" is 893/1000.

I built a t-shirt design around one of them.
This guy was a serial harasser and highly projective narcissist, but his take about the MMO The Secret World became an in-joke for years. To shotguns having a cooldown instead of an ammo counter "if that's not a reason to uninstall I don't know what is."

Up your game to Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzungen.

When it was an established franchise making it clear the game was designed as an MMO, certainly.
When it was a built from the ground up franchise made to be an MMO from inception... that's when I found it to be incredibly stupid.

That garbage app is going to radicalize so many people so quickly and unwaveringly it'll make FaceBoomers look like nuanced philosophers.
