CHILDREN OF THE DARK - JONATHAN JANZ
This book nails the "kids on bikes" nostalgia of King, 80s horror. Unfortunately, I felt like for every great moment, there was something that needed heavy editing. Physical book formatting was lacking. I enjoyed some parts, but not enough to cover it's flaws.

THE WAR OF THE WORLDS - H.G. WELLS
Granddaddy of sci-fi and alien invasion novels. Reflects Wells' distaste for empire, Britain's destruction of native lands. Language in the book is dated, but this makes it a portal back in time to the time it was written. ULLLAAA!!

ONE YELLOW EYE - LEIGH RADFORD
A book about grief, loss, terminal illness, and what we'd do for the ones we love, all dressed up as a zombie thriller. Loved how unflinching Kesta was to her ultimate goal, making her a great character. The final moments are heartbreaking 💔
