1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriages. So true doctors have known for years withholding life-saving procedures/meds = leading cause of preventable deaths. The problem is that before Roe vs Wade these women died and they are dying in larger numbers now.

I was homeless during my teens as my father continued to attack and rape me again. I am politically homeless once again because the genocide and rapes in Gaza is a step too far. No one helped me or stood up for me when I was a teenager. It's the least that I can do.

My brother is on the edge of suicide from living with my father who beating my mother and beat all my sisters and brother, and raping us all. He has no way of being a man that he grew up with that he can do. So he is totally lost. Until we stop DV & child rape there's no hope for boys and men.

It was my father for 15 years. Ley knows it is mostly the men in our own families, and she won't do anything about it. Howard and Abbott gutted services for child rape services. Abbott to the tune of $300 million dollars of DV services.

John Howard gutted intimate partner violence services, he destroyed restorative justice, he cut refuges, he cut counselling, he cut legal aid for women trying to escape violence men, etc. Howard led the way for Abbott to cut $300 from DV. He had been a hack for a long time. She's in with a chance.

I had thought about the need for positive male role models growing up but not about the impact of abuse, the lack of mental health treatment or the stigma around receiving such help when it is available. A friend, who is a psychologist, posted this on FB yesterday:

Ty! Because of the impact & stigma of violence & child rape many boys/men don't ever get to the point of even attempting to access mental health care. They go the path of addiction & suicide. They talk about the intense shame of what their father did to their mother, sisters or themselves.

Young white men are struggling bc they are living with violent fathers/role models & have no way of processing this. They have no way to work out how to be a man who isn't violent & sexually abusive to girls & women. I have seen my own brother struggle. No one to talk to about their own child rape.
