The Switch branding is extremely valuable to Nintendo who have also had issues differentiating their new and old products (Wii vs Wii U). Realistically what else could they call it while keeping the Switch name? If you slap the 2 on then no one is confused about what this thing will be.

I don't really expect game changers honestly. If the mouse thing is true I think that's neat for a Mario Maker or whatever that test game might be. Nintendo is going to make a bunch of games and some of them are probably going to be weird. 🤷

While I get some people might be slightly disappointed, prior to the Switch and DS their best console just added the word "Super" to the name alongside a few more buttons to the controller and more power. Switch has become a powerful brand in its own right.

I'm guessing it will be games that rely on certain peripherals like maybe even Labo or Ring Fit assuming that the old Joy-Cons can't connect to the Switch 2 for whatever reason. Or maybe they're not supporting the cloud games on the new hardware.
