I would like to see a hybrid education system that has some liberal arts education in the trades; and some trades education in the university system. In my opinion, mixing the two forms could make each appreciate the other

Right? A typical example is an electrician apprenticeship program that requires 4 years of classroom work all while working in the field. That takes serious effort.
