In his defense, it would be really terrible if a platypus destroyed the Instanbul of America.

Well take all the upshifts that we can

I’m long CoM as well - it’s disturbing, intensely watchable, and does a tremendous job of showing nihilism at the root of fascism.

Sens. Hickenlooper and Bennet just received calls demanding this. The time for go along get along politics are over.

Do you and @robinsonmeyer.bsky.social play rock paper scissors to determine who gets to deliver the increasingly infrequent upshifts?

Sounds like this week’s upshift!

Over the last 6 months, I lost 30 lbs after getting some alarming health news. I’d recommend increasing your intake of fiber, which will help you feel full and cut cravings. A little psyllium husk powder before meals helps a lot. And also buying fruit instead of snacks! You got this!

I’m glad that Gen AI wasn’t a thing when I was in undergrad. My consistent use of the em dash would have gotten me into trouble.

Was there last week for SF Climate Week and outside of a brief pass through of the Tenderloin, I’d have to agree with you. It was very pleasant!

Time to drop Tabor. A state with an economy as dynamic as Colorado shouldn’t be in the bottom tercile in terms of education funding.

I think that Taylor Sheridan is a hack at this point, but when Thorton’s character goes on that diatribe I didn’t necessarily take it to be Sheridan’s actual beliefs. His character is pretty clearly shown to be a huckster that’s willing to say whatever. TBF, TS is RW and his writing lacks nuance.

Very different direction, but I’m Still Here is now streaming and is very much worth a watch. It’s a heartbreaking depiction of a how a forced disappearance impacts the victim’s loved ones. The parallels w/ current US policy are alarming but the courage shown by the Paiva family is deeply inspiring.

These people are a bunch of abnormal freaks and weirdos. It’s not just Musk although he’s uniquely grotesque.

Tim Walz really should have kept up the weirdos and freaks line of attack on the GOP as the current iteration has moved from the “family values” party to a bunch of mean-spirited degenerates. I guess they’ve always been that, but now the masks are off.

That interior decoration is extremely gauche… wouldn’t expect anything different with Trump

The idea of Trump sitting down, putting El Topo on and stopping after 30 min is very funny to me. I don’t think he and Jodorowsky would really vibe…

The strides being made here are incredible, but the constant R&D costs for this advancement means that PV cell production is a terrible business to be in. Kind of clear in hindsight that the Biden admin’s attempts to onshore solar manuf was misguided.

I know many dems don’t want to utter the word immigration right now, but they should be shouting from the rafters calling attention to this. The admin is literally disappearing people with no due process into a Central American gulag. Not speaking up is such utter moral cowardice…

Scamming and grifting have become deeply engrained in the American psyche. A culture that praises conspicuous consumption and the accumulation of wealth above all else will necessarily discount the ethical boundaries crossed in its pursuit.
