It was fantastic to submit my 10,000th wildlife record on @inaturalist.bsky.social this week Almost half the species found were within 3 miles of Birmingham Cathedral My 10,000th record came at the site where George Dawson developed the Civic Gospel that transformed Brum! #CityofNature

66 bird species were seen in Birmingham yesterday during my 35 mile walk across our great city! We’ve so much to be proud of including our natural heritage I met friends groups that look after Brum’s open spaces. They’re the “unsung heroes” that deliver so much for the city 👏

We have been praying for better weather this year after the #ButterflyEmergency was declared by @savebutterflies.bsky.social last year! It’s early days but was nice to record 34 butterflies along our recording transects today: 25 Peacock 6 Comma 2 Small Tortoiseshell 1 Holly Blue 😎
