It’s bleak out there, but it’s heartening to know millions of people from all walks of life took the time to ruin one specific persons birthday, America’s hater spirit remains strong

Probably my favorite tifo ever and hearing Allianz roar as it went up got me choked up.

I love that a politician can say something like “I believe mice naturally spawn out of grain” and the news will now just treat that as a legitimate line of thought

Kiké Hernandez speaks out while his team stays silent.

Into my veins

being able to hear the wheels on the Sherman tanks squeal on account of no one there is some incredible footage. A+ comedy.

No Kings rally. South Bend Indiana. Thousands in attendance. #nokings #nokingsrally

“If not gestapo, why gestapo shaped?”

They launched a coup, suffered no consequences for it, won back power, and have used the power to pardon everyone involved while remaking the country through violence and intimidation. It’s just ridiculous to talk about the political violence of yelling at ICE agents within that context.

it amazes me that to this day, we've got Fox pumping out a constant stream of blatant disinformation, and the MSM firing reporters who dare to express any obvious truth about fascism.

This chart @pbump.com crated for his @washingtonpost.com newsletter today really illustrates the responsibility—the guilt—of Rupert Murdoch and bad-faith alternative-facts Fox News for getting and keeping us in our current mess. More impact than any single U.S. news media enterprise has ever had.

Good point here from Stanley: lack of GOP representation occurs in fields beyond humanities and social science. It's not about universities abandoning the GOP, but the GOP divorcing itself from science.

Rewatched Night of the Hunter tonight. Harry Powell — the growling wolf in sheep’s clothing, the charlatan who slays women and threatens children, the fake pious man who wishes he could kill the whole world — has never felt more relevant.

This is a telling datapoint. The confederacy lives on through our disproportionate Senate (exactly as planned).

When a cabinet member announces "We are using the military to liberate an American city from its elected leaders," where do you go from there. What is left to say. The idea of that being anything short of a near-universal "Wait, what the fuck is going on" moment proves how far we've backslid.

The thing about Trump is that he’s a TV guy. He is watching the coverage about protests facing off with his agencies/military. That’s how he’s gauging what he can and can’t get away with. It’s a feedback loop. And every time a network equivocates or blames protesters, that’s his cue to keep going

Another example of why traditional media (which adheres to long-standing journalistic standards) cannot compete w/ the right wing media sphere, which plays by completely different rules. It's a completely asymmetric playing field. The left can't compete by relying on traditional media for messaging.

It was the what-the-fuck of times, it was the what-in-the-actual-fuck of times.

The central delusion of pundits who desperately try to guilt people into coming back to Twitter: they genuinely seem to think we all secretly MISS Twitter and are merely hanging out over here out of a drab, self-flagellating sense of moral superiority no, we're here because Twitter sucks shit now

The correct way to connect the authoritarian presence in LA and the Big Beautiful Bill is that the bill gives the government the resources to do this in dozens of cities at once. So if you don't like what's happening in LA, it's coming to your town if the bill passes.

what people seem to believe is that there is a large number of criminal, layabout immigrants who can be easily found and deported. they support doing so snd are dismayed by the deportation of otherwise law abiding people. the problem is that the criminal group is imaginary!

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

It’s not just that it’s clearly intentional, it’s that it’s clearly intentional knowing that he’s being recorded. They know they can do whatever they want with complete impunity.

Operation Mincemeat on the Tonys! Grateful to @memles.bsky.social for recommending that show when we were in London. So damn good.

They figured out after 2020 that there's actually no real need for there to be riots for "omg there are riots!" to be a widely adopted reality.

full blown police riot in progress. never let them reframe this.

If you’re looking for quality independent reporting on what’s happening in Los Angeles, I’ve put together a starter pack for it. If you’d like to be added or know an indie who should be added, hmu

I just–

“Look out Haskell, it's real!”

White folks watched a bunch of white folks sack the Capitol and then most of them be pardoned by the head of the white identity party and now we're supposed to listen to other white people pontificate about non-violence...

Willi Castro, baseball player for the Minnesota Twins used the trans flag as eye black to showcase his support for our community. I hope he realizes how much this matters for trans people. Especially when the MLB is considered to be a very macho sport. I have so much respect for him. King shit! 🏳️‍⚧️

“Tango One what’s your 20?” “Tango One is at the Pizza Hut, at the Taco Bell, Tango One is at the combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.”

Also it would be deeply ironic if CNN is forced to cut away from this telecast to cover events in LA.

Welcome to America, where protesting illegal kidnappings without due process is an insurrection, but attacking the nation’s Capitol is not.

This kid here, he mattered. He didn’t think so, and he could no longer stand to be here. But he mattered, and I loved him.

It makes me legitimately sad that society can think of no other response to tragedy than, charge someone with a crime. www.nbcnews.com/news/nbcblk/...

obviously this is good on the merits but also: insisting that all people deserve autonomy, dignity, and equal protection before the law isn't so much 'doubling down on trans rights' it's just 'affirming a commitment to universal human rights'.

truth social crash has resulted in its one and only truth

Well this couldn’t have come at a better time www.bbc.com/news/article...

Bri Turner is and will forever be the most hardcore baller in the league

Bri Turner is wearing the “trans youth belong” shirt, and the pic’s still up on the Indy Star site #Fever #WNBA www.indystar.com/picture-gall...

They're literally doing the meme

Somehow the "We need to support policies that are popular" crowd never land on the very popular polices like "taxing big corporation more," "making health care more affordable," or "paying teachers more." It's always just "be 10% more racist."
