Yeah ok I get what you’re saying! Definitely not a 1:1 comparison but certain moments throughout hit those same notes.

Will add that to the queue!

The site changed so much in the time between those albums it’s not really a 1-1 but still!

I just learned on a podcast that they were given 13 episodes and they gave back 7 of them because Amy was pregnant and they didn’t want to recast. And those first six episodes are bad. But maybe they had benefit of the doubt for how they “fixed” the office for season two?

There’s simply no world where this should be the highest rated Mars Volta album (and thus one is actually rated too high, dare I say):

Unreal but in line with their other scores

I could have cited the 4.9 they gave De-Loused or the 3.5 they gave Amputecture too haha

Indeed. I took them to task twenty years later: www.getalternative.com/it-holds-up-...

I don’t like this one quite as much as some of the other recent tunes but she seems to have cool video concepts and obviously has some creative juice. Have been pretty surprised for sure!

I’m really trying but it’s been hard to get traction and it’s been a little fatiguing.

Dude I know. But every time I go to Twitter I’m like why did I enter this hellscape again? There’s no good option.

I think Ron would be vehemently against everything Elon has done and stands for. But what parts got you thinking this?

For sure. I hate that it always seems like an inventive heavy band becomes softer over time. But agree this single gives reason for optimism. And their PS tour was still plenty heavy so they may very well lean back into it here.

Perfect Saviors really plays into my affinity for prog. It’s not perfect but it has some choice tracks! And I love Ultrapop too. Real Folk Blues -> Bad Selection is awesome. Can’t wait for the new stuff and tour!

This is insane! What a randomly specific pull for a car stereo. Especially one that simply uses this image when I listen to The Beths (also incorrect):

Fair. Definitely wish he did more covers a la Limit to Your Love. These other covers are all pretty soft but I think that’s often where he’s at his most captivating.

LOL. Yeah that’s the one. Don’t miss the cover of A Case of You from the Some Thunder EP.

My modern pick is James Blake. He’s got a handful of excellent covers, mostly on the one EP but they are stellar. His covers are largely better than his original work imo.

Seriously these people at Kendrick/SZA down the street don’t realize they missed out.
