Respect to your mum.

It is far from over but the sight of millions of Americans demonstrating for nothing more outrageous than dignity and respect for fellow citizens was uplifting. As was the comedy military parade for agent orange and the sight of his crumpled, dissapointed face. Marchons! Respect your mum.

Why are Democrats so supine? Without an effective opposition a one party state is inévitable.

Come to think of it "The Mayflower" sounds a bit girly. Maybe "Manpower" would be better.

What gives me hope is that you and thousands of US citizens are so angry and fearful. Your European friends embrasse you.

I try to control my inner pedant but "coup d'état" is not a verb FFS. Rant over. Trumpism is a cult. True Believers dismiss evidence of previous wrongdoing and will do so again. And they will not easily transfer alliegence to a new Messiah. But it doesn't matter. The insects are dying.

If it were possible to gather up all the air in the world and hold it in huge gasometers so the monopolists could make us pay for the air we breathe, it would have been done by now. (With apologies to Robert Tressel)

What does that mean?

I agree but the USA constitution was designed to prevent what is happening now. I have lived in France for 5 years and noone here feels european. They are French. Not subsumed into some superstate as the Brexiteers claimed. At internationals I sing Mai Hen Wlad and Le Marseillaise with equal gusto

Most voters are morons, so they vote for morons. But it doesn't matter. The insects are dying. I fear the climate tipping point has already happened and we have been looking the other way. Hurricanes, floods, drouts, we have seen them all before and come through. But the insects are dying.

Not sure what you mean by Pluralité

I have been a Labour supporter for all my life but no friend of Israel could be a friend of mine. My Jewish friends feel the same.

Wales as a member state of the EU would arguably have even less influence in Brussels than it does in Wesminster. But I understand. Westminster is about control, the EU is about compromise. I am Wesh. I am European.

I understand the désire to be independent from England. But most seperatists I know want to be part of Europe. So we support the disinegration off the UK while supporting further intégration with the EU. How does that make sense?

Welsh indépendance. Welsh was the first language of my maternel grandmother. Greek was the first language of my maternel grandfather. My father was English. I was born in Cardiff. I am Welsh. I hated Brexit so much I moved to Freance at age 75.

How can you have alternative views about the deliberate slaughter of innocent children? When and how can it be anything other than evil? Am I being pétulant?

It should be Israel but without US support it could not continue to commit genocide so it has to be the USA.

The Broligarchs have bought everything. The judiciaiy, law inforcement, the media. They have even bought the Constitution. There is no way..

Fuckin lovin it here. A few health issues but my docteur is excellent and I am in good hands. My French is still terrible but slowly improving. I will be 80 on 20th and am taking over a local bistrot for an afternoon party. Oysters and bubbles at 13h, then buffet with a gypsy jazz band until 16h.

Hi Lettie, old friend. A deal is when both parties derive mutual benefit. Trump sees only winners and losers and he will only sign a "deal" if he thinks he is the winner. If he doubts that he will renege. This isn't a deal, it's appeasement and may last only until King Charles has kissed his arse.

I doubt that people who vote Reform do much enquireing. Most have few or no educational qualifications. Same applies to MAGAs. Reform appeals to their "feelings", not reason.
comment in response to post
Take an angry man, tell him you feel his pain, give him someone to blame..... It wasn't Reform or Farage that convinced people that the biggest threat the country faces is from boat people, it was the press. They are interdépendant.

Labour are trying to do both and will fail at both. Voters for whom immigration is a key issue will never vote Labour. Why vote racisme lite when the full fat is available?

Economic growth and reducing carbon émissions are incompatible. We have to fuck economic growth and save the planet or fuck the planet and go for growth.

Classic dressing is fine chopped eschalotte in red wine vinegar. Bubbles are fine but Muscadet is better. Or even Brittany cider, best consumed sitting on a harbour wall in Cancalle

Your responses are unhinged. Reciting past atrocities by others does not justify Israeli atrocités today. Nazi attempts to exterminâte Jews does not license Jews to exterminâte Palestinians. Withdrawing from an illegal occupation is not an act of grâce. My Jewish friends agree.

If systematic bombing ofwomen and children, destruction of infrastructure, including hospitals and other necessaries for life, denying humanitarian aid to innocents doesn't look like genocide, what does? There is a terrorist at large. Its name is Israel.

American bombs kill chidren. The USA is complicit in genocide.
