No idea if these are good machines, but there at Tim’s Tavern in Seattle, where it’s always a delight to see the Dusty 45s. Gotta cc @skoisirius.bsky.social because. #pinballsky

Hey, folks, I have two extras for face for Saturday, Aug 2. DM if you're interested. And much obliged if you can help me spread the word!

There are no distractions. It's all bad. Systematically stripping trans people of their rights, guys in balaclavas shoving any brown person with a tattoo into a ummarked vans, ending healthcare for millions. It's all in service of fascism and technofeudalism. It's all one thing. That's the point.

When ICE agents look like this, it is ENTIRELY APPROPRIATE for state and local law enforcement to step in and demand they identify themselves and show judicial warrants before detaining anyone from an immigration court. Democratic mayor and governors can take action on this.

"There’s no cheat code for fascism."

The Times saying last year they'd no longer endorse candidates in local elections, then immediately being like "oh but not THAT guy" 10 months later because the candidate wants free buses gives away the whole game. "Objectivity" means you break your own rules to punch left as much as you want.

Love this

It’s not Trump, it’s the party. They will keep doing this to you long after he’s no longer the leading the ticket

Name three books you've read at least twice. @denizcamp.bsky.social and @javierrodriguez.bsky.social's - Absolute Martian Manhunter #1 - Absolute Martian Manhunter #2 - Absolute Martian Manhunter #3

If your government has to send armed forces to silence people holding signs, the problem isn’t the protest. It’s the regime that fears accountability. Never should a government be threatening its own citizens and never should citizens be shrugging it off as the new normal.

Brian Wilson wrote "Don't Worry Baby" after hearing The Ronette's "Be My Baby" and being blown away by it. It was intended as a follow up. Phil Spector wouldn't let Ronnie sing it. Thankfully she covered it on an EP Kill Rock Stars released in 1999. www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1Bi...

Love this cover art from @chrissamnee.bsky.social (look closer)

This is a great series from @raypadgett.bsky.social. So great that I put Empire Burlesque back on. Not that it's ever far away. I probably pull it out, happily, once a year (1/x)

Having a hard enough time accepting it in 2025

If you watched Andor, you know what’s going on in Los Angeles right now.

I’ve been excited for this series, and the first entry lives up to the anticipation. EB was the 1st Dylan album I bought at the time of its release. My brother had already bought it. But I knew that Bob was BOB, so rather than tape his copy, I bought my own LP

THIS: “Both men and the party they own are committed to taking as much as possible from Americans who need help in order to give to those who have more than they could ever want” And underscore “and the party.” It’s not just the supervillians.
